It's only "lower" Gilchrist from an elevation standpoint. You're actually in the "Upper" community of The Villages . . . . . GILCHRIST.

Not a bad turnout last night for a tropical storm windy rainy night. It was good to see old friends and a number of newbies. Wendy and Larry, glad you're here. You'll love it.

I just moved in yesterday - finally made it. Way too tired last night to think about joining in the fun but please please please know that I'll be at the next one.

2606? Gullberry. Lanai will face pinellas and the 8th green is directly behind us. Very excited. But confused about the timeframe for building.
Is this right?
-$7500 deposit to hold lot, sign contract to purchase lot
-6 mo to choose house and have design meeting and give the remainder of 20% of total home
-closing date set at design meeting, according to builders schedule. (60-75 days out)
Is this correct? Our sales person is on vacation so I'm not sure of the timeframe.
She said something about coming back after the $7500/contract for lot. To make preliminary choices. It sounded like she wanted the 20% then. But I thought we had 6 mo from contract date.
Can anyone clarify? Thanks!! We live in Utah and airfare ain't cheap this time of year. Hoping we just have to return for design appt.
thanks, neighbors!!!
You are right, after deposit you have six months to schedule the design meeting. 20% of house is due at end of design meeting when they will assign you a closing date. Our agent told us that build out was taking about 80 days. We bought in Gilchrist also, Section 214 on Vicksburg. We are going down 7 July for our design meetings and to put our deposit down. Your timeframe is correct, welcome to the Village it's going to be a wonderful place for all of us to retire. Be well and enjoy the process. Since I'm just a few steps ahead of you feel free to ask me questions, I'll be happy to help. Have a good weekend. . .

Just a couple of days off the thread and we have about 3 or 4 pages to read!

We have had to 'work' down in London for the last couple of days, what a shock to the system, well when we say 'work', all we had to do was meet and great a few guests to our companies Trade Show, but being on our feet all day and we were whacked out!

Back into retirement mode now and planning the next trip out to the Golf Course.

We stayed up the other night and raised a glass to all our friends meeting at the Gillybration at Evans Prairie, when we say friends we mean all our old ones and all the new ones we have yet to meet - can't wait to get back to TV and get back into the new expanded Golf Team.

See you all again soon

We must be looking at wrong thread. Completely missed the last two get togethers..Which thread tells us of the get togethers or is there an email chain? We are here until June 25th on Euclid Terr and really want to get to meet our fellow Gilly's... Am I missing something?

This is the thread (New Villagers in Gilchrist) that announces get togethers at EP and other special events. If you look back a couple of pages you'll see the posting by The Mayor for last nights Gillybration. Sorry you missed the last few events. I'm looking into getting the spreadsheet back up and running for units 209 & 210. Maybe that will help.

I can guarantee that you will not regret moving into GillyLand. This has to be the best neighborhood in TV! Welcome home!!!

Any activities are normally posted right here on this thread. I know that I posted the "call" for the last one. Things move so fast on here it's not hard miss an announcement. Normally I try to read the last three or four pages to make sure I've not missed anything... And, I still end up missing things. Hang in there and don't give up on us.

Contrary to the deliberately erroneous posts by our distinguished A-4, the lawns of Junction29 and HotRodGirl are not dying due to divots taken by the mayor but rather by the salty tears of the mayor that are shed whilst lying prostate on the lawns grieving over the absence of the aforesaid occupants.

Surely there must be some remedy for this terribly ailment??? Ah yes...golf and beer. We shall see what effect that has!!!

You guys are too funny. If you practice really hard, you should try out for American's Got Talent! Rich and I are heading down again on Friday, June 28 for 15 wonderful days. Hope to "catch up".

Seriously folks.....

Do you realize how much fun it would be to pull something like this off. There surely are enough empty beer bottles in this neighborhood to supply a full band for many years to come. I can't believe they did it with straight faces!

Default Evening Golf with the wildlife

Chief Rose, Mike R. and I played 6 dollar golf tonight at Evans Prairie. First we had to chase a gator off the course in front of us and then when we got to the 18th green we found Mikes ball on the back of a big turtle. Then Mike took a picture of the turtle and ball when it fell off.

It was a GREAT PUTT MIKE
