Luckily, our house down there is a furnished model, so we still have furniture here till the stepkids take it all in a few days. Then ..well... should be interesting!
See you in a little more than a week!

How do pods work? What do I need to do to find out more? We are moving into our place on Olustee Place in April. We have some time to choose what comes with us.

I priced out the pods and the extra charges scared me off. I used upack.com
They provide a metal box with two big doors and the size is 6' x 7' x 8' tall.
I was about 20 % less than a pod, but a bit smaller.
We packed it in Wisconsin on December 31, they delivered it to our driveway on January 6. Worked well for us.

We still have a condo in Greendale. I have a home business (tax work) so, I need to stay here to April 15th also. My wife is on Eastfield Path and enjoying the 60's while I endure the -0 temps here.
I signed up for Brighthouse internet and cable. You can search on this forum for their number. The first month is also free, and the internet speed is over 30MPS download and 2 up.

Will do that. I spoke with a Customer Service Representative from Brighthouse yesterday evening. He said they did not serve that area. How crazy is that? I am very interested in getting that service at our home on Olustee Place.

My wife retired on December 31. I am part-time with a life insurance company in Milwaukee. I will pull the plug as soon as I move my stuff here, which should be early April. We look forward to meeting youse guys!

Greg, I'd like to speak with you to aid us in understanding our move from Wisconsin. Looks like we will both be in WI until April and we could talk over the phone. I have looked at Upack and have questions as to how much you moved and whether TV allows the cubes to be left on your new driveway. I will send you a message.

Hello everyone. This will be the first of many posts. Erika and I have been looking at the Villages for four years and we are making the move. Putting my house in Maryland on the market this week and as soon as it sells we are coming down to buy a new home. This thread is very informative.

Welcome! You probably feel July can't come soon enough but it will. We are in the village of Amelia. This is a wonderful place to retire. Good choice!

Can't think of a nicer guy to get "The Bird" than Fred. Wilma, however, definitely does not deserve it...

Just shows how crazy in Gilchrist we are
No wonder we spend so much time at the bar

It made us jump when we went outside
We almost let our composure slide

Now we are struggling to solve the clue
The ‘Manfred’ puzzle is sending us blue

Let us hope he finds his way back home soon
Maybe by singing a Happy Xmas tune

As the meaning of Manfred is a ‘Good Peace’
May the message of this riddle and symbol never cease

As it all helps to spread good Xmas cheer
We are off to get another frothy beer
Seems as though we now have a Village Poet Laureate in our midst. Is there a title that goes with that???

Hi Chris! We're located on Bradshaw at the corner of Kilgore. You've got some great neighbors on Hackberry. Hope you enjoy your time here in our little slice of paradise!

PODs are great..you get them for a month. You can decide how you want to use that time. We worked backwards..wanted the Pod here the day after we closed. So, they told us they needed 7 days to get it to us, so we worked backwards to when it needed to be picked up..and when we first had it delivered. You pack it yourself. we had 2 weeks to pack...
They have several sizes. The advantages for us were, you can take your time loading it, and you can take however long you need to unload (within the month)

If you're relying on me for expertise, you're in big trouble. LOL. I have posted a blurb on our 209/210 website asking about interest in getting a group together. Looks like there are some who would like to play. Your lovely bride will have to teach the next lessons. She was great.

I have also heard of Upack.com. Supposedly, they offer more flexibility and lower cost.
