Default Lot Re-Low

It looks like our building date may be delayed. The wind just pushed our lot into the sand trap on Destin's 4th fairway.

When it warms up (and the snowbird/flakes are gone), there's a good water aerobics class at Seabreeze on Tuesdays and Thursdays, usually at 11:00, although the time may change. Will watch the Rec Guide for info. For the time being, I am content to use the Gilchrist Pool to do the same exercises as often as I can get there. Hopefully that will be really often after this stretch of bad weather.
I may join you in the Gilchrist pool when it gets nice out. Our friends from Chicago area are visiting with us until Monday. Of all times they had to come. I wish it were nice weather for them. I think that they like it here. They are considering renting a house or villa next winter.

Anybody who wants to do water exercise lets watch for classes.

Glad we are here enjoying the dust storm, it is flurrying Kennesaw! Had hoped to go to a Square tonight....
We need to wait for nicer weather. And then we can do it! You might be back in time for the good weather. But I hope it gets here sooner than 3/16. Have a safe trip.

Default Sandstorm

Well, it seems Dave and Meredith (Gilchrist Cruisers) and myself are right in the thick of it with the addition of a new beach in our yards! Those with grandkids may wish to come on over when the weather warms up and build some sandcastles. The sprinklers turned a section of it into good building material this morning... I also have pictures for warranty and have filled out an online claim as well as having called. I want to see some silt fences go up across the street where it is so open with 5 sand lots! Getting tired of it as well. Thanks for letting me vent, but I guess I would still rather have the sand than the snow my landscaper showed up this AM to check on his extensive work, and I do believe he was shocked by what he saw. The fact that he said absolutely nothing for a minute or two was evidence enough. Then the jaw dropped open and orders came out for the guys to check the plants, water feature and pick up all the garbage... They picked up in your yard too GCruisers! Think warranty and the Gillbillies may have a few words
Hoping this passes and we can all get back to normal!
For those on for pickleball today, I think we'll be playing over an area of 3 consecutive courts!!!
Happy Sunday everyone!

Well what's the details, inquiring minds want to know, did U go with fiberglass?

What size?

etc.

Well, if you hadn't been so busy scrubbing the driveway Thursday, you could have seen all the plans! LOL

No, we didn't go with fiberglass. There is some thought that fiberglass may be outlawed in Florida in the near future, as many such pools crack at the water line where it can get extremely hot above water and colder beneath. Then the fibers end up in the water. So concrete/gunnite it is for us.

Pool will be a little shy of 29' by 17'. Curved shape. Beach area with spa jets and a bubbler (which I'm sure the grandkids will love). There will also be another bench area with spa jets. There will be a two step up deck in the back to accommodate three waterfall curtains.

Birdcage will extend as far to the rear as possible and will cover the entire length of the back of the house (50'x 25').

This, of course means we will be removing our 10 x 10 block patio and stone patio that is currently off our existing lanai. Don't know if we can re-purpose the block and stone, so we may be disposing of them.

Permit process will take 3 - 4 weeks, then we shall start. Should be interesting.

Maybe we need to have a Gilchrist Beach Party. Give everyone shovels and buckets and turn them loose.?????? Umbrella drinks as a reward?????
