Default Congratulations and Commiserations

[QUOTE=WVMtnBoy;710724]It is with great pride that I am able to announce a new appointment to the management team of the Office of the Mayor!

Therefore, the Village Elders in conjunction with the Mayor have unanimously appointed Bobby "Bunnyslippers" Davis (aka: Bogo) as the Deputy Mayor.

Deputy Mayor Bunnyslippers was also presented with a sash as a symbol of his new office which was continuously worn throughout the GillyBration!

Pictures of the momentous occasion are attached. The Village Management Staff realizes that we are operating in austere times but chose to follow the premise that the government must expand in order to adequately address the concerns of all of our friends and neighbors. We thank you for your support!!!

Sincerely
Hizzonor
The Mayor

Oh no, oh no, yet more management posts to add to the administration burden

I hope this doesn't mean the village 'dues' are going to go up to pay extra salaries or that we are going to cut Jimbo loose from the bail bond support to make ends meet - it's cold and lonely out there on ones own

Anyway, in spite of the added workload we offer our Congratulations to DM 'Bunnyslippers'

Just a word of caution though Your Deputy Honour! - His Worship is accomplished at doling out the work load, so don't call in the office too often, if he can't find you, he can't work you!!

Question for our beloved Administrative Department in England????

What is the proper way to address a "Depudie Mayor?" We refer to The Mayor as Hizzoner or Your Worship. But a Deputy Mayor? Hmmmmmm. Please give the lowly peasants across the pond some "proper" guidance on the subject.

P.S. You won't believe how much the place has changed since you went away. Hurry back.

No ...not upset, just waiting for the right minute to " give" them to someone else!
Sorry we missed the event last night! Mini Cooper club commitment!
Congrats to the newest of the administration!

We have had a great holiday, in a very old and traditional part of England called Cornwall.

We will tell you all about it on another post.
Hurry back, we miss you like crazy!

Hope you had a wonderful holiday. Gilchrist continues to grow but there is a absence of your laughter. Hurry back! Looking forward to seeing you in September.

Hi All Gilly friends. I had to catch up on all the messages. I was about 10 or so pages behind!
It seems like a lot is going on in Gillyland since we left. I am missing all of you very much! It just isnt fun without you. Congrats to those of you who have taken on a new political career in Gillyland. We thank you for your dedication to keeping us in stitches! And of course thanks to our beloved Mayor!
Mike and I are missing the gillybrations. I hope you all remember us when we return. I feel like we have been gone forever! Aug 25 is our target date to get home to TV.
Have fun and keep a light in the window for us. Wishing all Gillies that are traveling a safe trip back.

Default Tickets for Gillybrations

A-4 mentioned something about maybe having to buy tickets for the gillybrations at the Bradenton Rec Center because they had so many people attend last time that many were turned away. Can you tell us how we can get tickets for the next one?

The organizers of the first Pot Luck at Bradenton didn't realize how responsive the people of Gilchrist would be to the open invitation. The night of the Pot Luck the rec center front desk informed them that there was a limit on how may people were allowed to use the room. Many people were sadly turned away and I can't tell you how upset the organizers were that people who wanted to attend couldn't get in. Gilchrist is too big and there are too many people eager to meet new friends and socialize to pack them indoors at a place like Bradenton. So for the next Pot Luck the organizers printed a specific number of tickets (at no cost) and gave them out until the max headcount was reached. Even this approach upsets the organizers because they would still like to have events for all residents of Gilchrist. I suggested that when the weather cools off this fall that we have a Wine (and beer), cheese, and cracker party at one of the polo matches or just take over a polo field.

P.S. . . . I thought you were going to organize Gilchrist South (unit 214) and start a spreadsheet / neighborhood listing?? Peter Brownell is doing the list for units 211, 212, & 213. I'm doing it for 209 & 210.

So are all the tickets for the next event gone? And how do we get them next time if they are?

When they give you a closing date, you can bank on the house being ready on that date. 2 1/2 to 3 months doesn't sound long to me. I bet you couldn't get a house built that fast where you came from.

We found out that they were right on the money. Our house was actually finished in 9/2012 and it sat empty for about two weeks prior to the closing. There are substantial penalties on the part of the builder if the completion date isn't met...

I'm not sure that this document will post but I thought it was worth giving it a try.

Well, since I've replaced my golf umbrella with my new AR-15 I'd say that we're well armed for any rabid bunnies that happen to cross our tracks!

DM Bunnyslippers does have a few points that we do need to address....

#1 - As bad as I am we can still make the third tee by dark. We've done it before and we can do it again. It's irrelevant.
#2 - Although the ice may have melted by the time we get there it is a proven fact that cold water will keep beer cold for a long period of time if put in a "properly insulated container" therefore this point is also irrelevant.
#3 - Anyone who wears bunnyslippers and lets his friends see him deserves to have said items plugged! Thus also rendering this point irrelevant.

Any additional questions will be addressed as is necessary!

Hizzonor
The Mayor

Shotguns are for amateurs. I use a Smith & Wesson 380. Fortunately it has a built in Laser for night shooting.

As your newly appointed DM, I would be more than happy to fulfill your request! However, there are some issues you need to consider before partaking in my more than generous serving of free beer.
1) After hearing of your golf abilities, by the time you all arrive at the 3rd tee, it will be dark! Therefore, flashlights, lanterns, etc. will be needed to locate your refreshments.
2) Ice buckets will be placed at the 3rd tee, but the ice will need to be replaced frequently before your whenever arrival. Who will replenish the ice?
3) Since the WVa mayor is always armed, the bunnyshoes and I are somewhat apprehensive in participating in the free beer giveaway. Please remember, it is not bunny-hunting season in TV.

Please address these issues and email me back before your late Monday night arrival.

Yours Truly,
Gilchrist DM

Now wouldn't that be a really nice thing for DM Bunnyslippers to do for his comrades? Wonder if he will????

Sorry, it is not quite as posh for the 'Depudie', we just say Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress

If we made Hizzoner a Lord Mayor, that would leave the way further down the pecking order for more Mayor's, rather than Deputy's

Of course we would worry about the Administrative and financial burden that this would place on the department and then we would also need a chauffeur driven luxury vehicle for the worshipful couple.

We are counting the days until we get back to you guys
