Have a wonderful Thanksgiving all. I know we all have much to be thankful for this year, however my mom could use your prayers at this time too. She was rushed to the hospital a week ago Monday with pneumonia and two subsequent heart attacks. She has dementia and is so frightened that between my dad, sister and I, one of us has stayed with her 24-7. It is so hard to watch my dad, after 57 years of marriage he is having a very difficult time too. I am so thankful I am here in upstate NY right now. Also thankful for all our family, long time friends and for the many friends we have met on this thread. Take care and be safe!

Linda and Rich,
I am sorry to hear about your Mom. I went through very much the same with mine and know how it affects everyone. Hugs to you and yours and your TOTV family is certainly keeping you all in thought and prayer. God Bless.

Linda and Rich--
Thoughts and prayers to you on this Thanksgiving Day as you have to be strong for both your mom and dad. I think as you get to know many of us you'll find out that we have already been in your shoes and will be there to help ease the pain and offer support and guidance. That what sucks about having to grow up

On a happy note--my turkey is in the oven and it smells wonderful--the table is set--the trimmings are fixed and am waiting for 17 family members to arrive as I thinking it will be Thanksgiving in the Viilages next year. Can't complain as it's supposed to be 62 and sunny in OH today-yea! Everyone enjoy the day surrounded by family and friends!

And oh so jealous that we aren't there December 5th to join in all the festivities--just everyone don't have so much fun and save a couple of drinks for Jan 3th

You can also check with your property insurance agent to see if they have any ideas for you as well as some of the people here from other countries. Barefoot from Canada comes to mind.send her a PM and I am certain she will respond. Though Canada is not your country, perhaps you can post something in the general discussion forum for other Great Britians to answer back...
Hope you find something you are comfortable with!
Hi Bob and Carol,

Many thanks for your advice, sorry we have been a while replying, but been off the internet for a couple of days.

Since we posted, we have managed to get 6 months cover from our Bank!!!!!: how cool is that, so we have a breathing space now to explore the options in the US.

On the final countdown now to get over to you guys, even Millie has her 'Fit to Travel' certificate all ready.

See you all soon

Many thanks Richard, no we haven't tried that, but given how popular the US is with Brits, thats a good suggestion.

Another Corona on the slate!

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, especially your dad seeing his soulmate suffering and we sincerely wish that everything turns out for the best eventually.

Life can be hard sometimes, but having friends and family around you can help.

kind regards

To our future Gillys neighbors,

Wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving. We will be in the neighborhood next week to see the progress on our house and to drop off some things in Ocala. After that, the next trip to TV will be to move in. We have so much to be thankful for!
