Talking Newbies on Board!

Hi everyone - we are Bill & Maureen (aka Mo or Matey Mo) Houston. We are closing on our new Iris on 7/5 in the Village of Charlotte.

We are moving here from Sarasota where all our possessions are anxiously awaiting us to rescue them from storage. TV will be our year-round home.

Bill is a golfer and I am a knitter/quilter who has agreed to try golf. We are former boaters and long-time Parrot Heads. Looking forward to all the fun stuff here in TV.

Ciao for now -

Bill and Mo. We are Tom and Cherie and we are in Sanibel, right near you. I golf and Cherie is a golf wannabe so we should get together and hit a few. When you get settled here just PM me and we'll set something up. you are gonna love it here.

Default Congratulations!

I'm so envious. We have our design meeting on 8/26 and hope we can close and move by December from Houston. Did you build? If so, how long did it take? We keep changing our minds on what model we think we want, but an Iris has always been in the mix. When we come in August we also plan to check out the new homes on the market and if we find the right one, may get to move sooner. Hubby already retired and just waiting on me. Your closing date if a good one. It's our anniversary - 38 yrs.!!!!

For my birthday Hubby bought me golf clubs. We're hoping to get into a couples league. Years and years ago - we played in a league (well he played - I was present) and had a great time. Hopefully, I'll do better this time!

Well - we were originally going to build, but when we found out how long it would take, we looked at the existing inventory of Iris's (we already knew that was what we wanted), and bought one 4 days after moving into our temporary rental! I didn't get my granite or tile, but we did buy a great golf cart instead with the money we saved! I can add those items at a later date.

Welcome to our new Charlotte neighbors! You'll love it here! May I ask, where in Charlotte you'll be living? Our little village is growing by leaps and bounds!
