Default Oak Forest again

They are at it again, the residents who live on or near Oak Forest Drive now want the speed limit reduced. It's 25mph like all the rest of our streets but they want a special limit just for them. They are using safety as the "reason" for their request. I guess the saftety of the residents on all the other streets in the Villages is just not as important as the Oak Forest people. I use Oak Forest about once a week when I have business at Citizen's or Colininal bank and I do not see any traffic back ups or drag racing. Usually a few carts going in my direction and a few coming towards me. I see much more traffic on several other streets (Maderio, Southern Trace,Del Marr) and those people aren't going to the commisioners looking for special treatment. The next board meeting is Oct. 28 and they will be discussing what action that the Oak Forest people want to convert their street to a semi-privet road.

The folks (at least some vocal ones) living on Oak Forest seem to think they ought to be able to dictate who can use that county road. Although I sympathize with them, I will continue to use this street to get to Glenview via golf cart. At least until something is done about the width and surface of the trail on Buena Vista. Now that's unsafe!

Sorry Oak Forest residents.

It seems like much of the angst over use of Oak Forest is caused by the poor condition of the cart path on Buena Vista. I don't understand why there isn't more push to remedy that situation. It sounds like a clear case of treating symptoms rather than the cause. Perhaps I'm missing comething.

I agree....it is very sad...for them....but we need to have a safe place to drive and Buena Vista N of 466 is scary....

i hope everyone living north of 466 will vote on november 4th to elect amenity advisory reps who will give improvement of our golf cart path's appropriate priority.
