Default One month after visiting the village

Spent August at the Villages and was hooked. Came home to St George Utah, put our home on the market, sold it in two weeks, waiting for the closing which should be middle of November, leaving the middle of November for a 30 day cruise (hopefully homeless) and then driving straight to The Villages to purchase a home. We were lucky and sold our home turn key!
We are originally from New Jersey and just felt as we got older we had to get back to the East coast. Can not explain to our friends and neighbors why we are so hooked. In the one month we were there (stayed in a villa in St Charles)we met so many beautiful people. We keep in touch with many of them via internet and they are just waiting for us.'
We have lurked on this forum for many months and learned so much. Now that it is a reality we are certain that we will have many, many questions.

Welcome!

We, too, are from NJ - but will remain snowbirds for while longer. We have another vacation home in Maine that we are not prepared to let go of just yet. So far Summer at the Jersey shore, Fall in New England, and Winter in TV works well for us! We leave the Spring open for visiting family in the Carolinas and travelling to places we have not been before!

Congrats on selling your home so quickly!

katezbox - was out in the village of Bonita today - what a lovely area of TV!

Thanks for the welcome. We did make a friend that we play pickleball with from the Village of Bonita. We definitely want to stay in the areas that are no older than 5 years. Can not wait to search for courtyard villas.

Our daughter has a condo in Cape May and sometimes use it when we come to NJ. We are so excited to sell the home so quickly for we were prepared to be here for at least a year. Just need that right person that loves your style and taste.

sorr1996,
What a wonderful story for you! Of course, the story concludes with the perfect ending... living in TV. Actually, that's the beginning... the best is yet to come!

We know we belong there! Guess it was meant to be. Now to find a home in an ideal village. When we rented it was in St Charles so of course we got to know all the people in the surrounding villages and that is where all the new construction is. We will look at used and new and then decide.
What village are you in???

Do you rent frequently at TV??? The best thing we did was rent during the summer, monthly rentals are cheap and we stayed in what we thought would be the ideal home for us. Turned out the courtyard villas are perfect for us.
We do not want to deal with big lawns or any type of lawn for that matter. If we do buy a resale eventually we would make it all zero landscaping.

It costs a lot of bread making grass grow on a sand dune!

Welcome! We are in Bonita - almost in anyway. We will be there in January to enjoy our new surroundings. We were there in September and just loved our new home and all the people we met. We can't wait to start living the TV lifestyle
