To begin stop at your mail station, usually there are notices regarding the social club in your village of Winnifred. Look in the recreation news in Thursdays paper. There are many, many activities that you can attend to meet other people. |

Exactly what the last person said. When the weather is warmer go to your neighborhood pool as well as alot of people will congregate there. If you're a person of faith check out one of the many churches in the area. Of course there's the clubs etc. Make it a routine to go out for coffee at one of the local spots and you'll run into others there eventually and will make conversation with etc. It's really not that hard....unless you don't get out!

Just go to one of the many activities at the rec centers and you will meet plenty of people. Walk around your neighborhood and people ususally talk to you. Sometimes you have to take the first step and introduce yourself. Go to Barnes and Noble, etc you will find friendly people. We are here.

As far as meeting people goes, don't be hesitant to go knock on some of the doors in the neighborhood and introduce yourselves. That's a great way to meet some people you'll be seeing frequently!

Go door to door and tell everyone you are cooking a ham, or bake an already made Stouffers lasagna, and tell the neighbors please to bring a side dish or dessert on a day that you decide. Say you will provide the whatever and the soft drinks.
I have done this so many times in my life. People are so afraid to do this and it is so easy, and you will find your efforts will be so welcomed. |

Try Zumba at LaHacinda on Sunday morning. It's so fun, no skill set needed, just be ready to shake it! There's a beauty school by Walmart, this might sound crazy, try a facial for $20.00 (price might have gone up). Our entire family gets a facial, it feels so good. Try pickleball at Habiscus on Monday & Wednesday morning. Great group of people. I think they play at Alamanda on Tue & Thur morning. The exercise class at Seabreeze on Friday morning with Kathy is fabulous! Platform tennis is a new and interesting game at Seabreeze. We can only visit TV for two weeks, try to do as much as you possibly can. Pickup a Recreation Guide and start planning your day. Bowling is cheap on Sunday morning at Spanish Springs. Have fun!

We met friends at church (in our case New Covenant Methodist).
This time of year couples can sign up for dinners with 3 other couples. Each month the 4 couples either go to each others houses or if preferred there are groups that go to various Restaurants. Our program is called Table Talk. Couples DO NOT have to be church members to participate. They are now organizing for the next Table Talk Feb-April 2011. I'm sure other churches have a similar program to help people get acquainted.

Although I have lived here for many years, I worked full time out of TV until a year ago. I knew alot of folks but when it was my turn to jump into the pool, groups had been formed for a long time. I just went out and found activities I enjoyed and met people with like interests. Met alot of new people and participated in things I had not had time to do. I find most everyone here is friendly and that was from day one. Try to make ToTV lunch at Crispers and you will meet forum folks. Other previous suggestions are great too. The squares are excellent to strike up a conversation or how about the check out line at Publix. I have met some nice folks while discussing the current price of tomatoes!!! I am sure you will find your niche here.

Put a sign in the front yard saying "Free Beer". You will meet so many people you will wish you had a little time for yourself again.
