Many folks in the villages consult. Most have a career's experience in a field valuable in context of current workforce that often gets little training and often changes employers.

POLE DANCE? Pay is usually in $1's, but sometimes the very appreciative clients give $5's.😁

BPRICE...become an RA at a recreation center or an ambassador at a golf course. You must go thru the office in Lake Sumter. But don't expect to get rich.

But you have to make sure you don't know where anything is in the store.

Part time at a Rec Center---like working at the check-in desk at one of the Fit Clubs; or front desk while entering a Rec Center; part-time at a hardware store; Publix's; etc.

If you have enterprise skills and want a good paying job, check out LinkedIn, monster, career builder, dice, and all the others. Jobs for seniors pay very well (if you have the talent they need) and all my job offers come with working remote, work from home. I pass up jobs all the time from LinkedIn that pay well over $200k if full time, well over $100k for part time, all working from home.
Personally, if I was going to work to keep busy or I needed to work for extra cash, I would take 1 of these jobs from LinkedIn or Monster compared to working for the villages for a fraction of this income.

Lol what color is your hair? Grey is less likely to find work than purple, blue or pink these days in TV. Now I have seen some Grey with pink etc. on top of the gray. So that color scheme may help get a foot in the door. Try that.

Tattoos would help got any of those? You'll need a lot of them so book some tatoo sittings early.

Attitude don't try too hard. Be real chill, not too eager. Don't care too much about committment.

Don't claim to have a great work background or experience. That's not impressive. They want trainable in 2024! You know, moldable.

1/2 /s

Best of luck, enjoy the process.

Handyman odd jobs are big in T V. I see rigged up with tools and equipment on golf carts all the time! Pet sitting n dog walkers too.

This is exactly where I am. Working remotely for a company back where I moved from making over $200k. The Villages was hiring for a similar position and the pay was $45k.

I guess if I was working just to keep busy the pay wouldn't matter, but my kid makes more working their part-time job between semesters at college than the typical pay here in TV.

You must mean "HAPPY", not busy.

Copy editor. I am a voracious reader and read a lot of books from a small publisher (military Sci-Fi). I connected with the publisher on a Facebook group he maintains and complained so much about grammar and formatting errors in his books that he finally asked if I wanted a job. Since then, other publishers have reached out to me as well. So, almost every day is busy reading advance copies of books and submitting edits. No pay, but some of the authors send me autographed copies of the books and I get some swag like T-shirts and the like. Full disclosure: I was chief of the publications production division of the Army Field Artillery School for several years so I'm actually qualified for the job.

The one service I need for my parents who live there is a dependable driver to and from Dr. appointments, and to possibly stay with them instead of just pickup and drop off. I'd also imagine you could make a killing pet-sitting, dog walking, and pool cleaning. Whatever you choose, being dependable is worth its weight in gold.
