ST CHARLES - FOGGY BROOK LOOP wannabes
We are Jim and Barbara in Kentucky. We came on a lifestyle visit in September 2009 and purchased a lot in St Charles on Foggy Brook Loop. At that time, the 200 lot plat only had one or two homes under construction. Our sales person (Mark Lawson) sent us a photo of the area a couple of weeks ago and he says the area is 90-95% complete. That empty lot #84 with the sold sign is ours. We put our Louisville house on the market around December 20th. We are listed with one of the best sales people in town. At the advice of all our Catholic friends, we also have St Joseph buried upside down in the backyard facing south towards Florida. The market has been very slow around the holidays and through the dreary winter months. Kentucky is now gorgeous with dogwood and redbud blossoms and all the trees have the bright green new-growth leaves of spring. Our house is beautifully landscaped and looks great inside and out. With the end of the school year approaching, we are hoping the home sales traffic will pick up and the house will get some showings. As soon as we close on the house, we'll send the check to start construction that same day. So keep us in your prayers and thought while we sit and wait to be able to move to The Villages. Our best friends are coming down May 1 to May 7 for a Lifestyle visit and we are coming along with them. We will be walking around checking out the neighborhood and may get a chance to meet some of you on the street or at the St Charles pool. Enjoy The Villages. Hope to be living there with you soon.

We have not bought a lot because of the slow market but we also have the house on the market. BTW, I am Catholic and I have my St. Joseph in the front yard facing the house as I have always been told it should be. I have an extra one so I guess he will go in the backyard facing Florida. I CANNOT WAIT TO GET TO TV!!!! Yesterday my neighbor install a satalite dish in front of my house (on his property) right out my front window. Get me out of here!!!

Our house was on the market here in Ark for a year, and I did bury St. Joseph upside down and it seemed to work. We did wait until we sold before buying because husband is still working here. We started home Jan and closed March so we will be down in June as full timers. Good Luck with the sale.

My house in PA is going on the market this week. I also have St. Joseph for help. I spent the winter renting in Sunset Point. I purchased a lot on Pennecamp Drive and my house will be completed and settlement is scheduled for June 10th. With moving day June 24th and arrival at my new home on the 26th. I am counting the days. Good luck to everyone - see you all soon.

We too have our house on the market with St Joseph buried in the backyard & are waiting for it to sell before we purchase. Still don't know whether to go new or resale - but we are anxious to be able to make the choice. The waiting is soooo hard.

Welcome to TV! We are WV snowbirds who have a wonderful place in St Charles on Dove Hollow Run. Dove Hollow runs into Foggy Brook Loop and it's a great neighborhood. The residents have monthly driveway parties and weekly pickleball/golf outings. We are going back down in June and can't wait, you will love it there too, I'm sure.

Neighbors of yours
We live down the street from your house. Do you have someone taking care of the lawn? The weeds are knee high and I do not want the weed police to get you. If you do, they are not doing their job. If you do not we have a guy that is good and is doing at least 3 homes near you. Let me know if I can help. Welcome to the loop.

I saw this out on the web and it made me laugh so I thought that I would share it with you. It deals with the theme in this thread of burying St. Joe in order to sell your house.
"Many who have experienced difficulty selling their homes have reported seemingly miraculous sales shortly after burying a statue of St. Joseph on their property. Stephen Binz's 2003 book, Saint Joseph, My Real Estate Agent, is replete with many such examples. However, one tale included in the book — which might well be apocryphal — indicates that everything doesn't always go as planned. One impatient man moved his statue from the front yard to the backyard to the side of the house and finally threw it in the trash. A few days later the frustrated seller opened the newspaper and saw the headline "Local Dump Has Been Sold." |

Score one more for Saint Josesph
My friend is living in Largo and also has a home very near us in Ohio. It has been on the market for 18 mos. or so. I went over and buried St. Joe in there yard and they got two contracts that weekend. Was it Saint Joseph, or no?
