Swim Spa - I'm IN!
Well, I went from New Guy looking to Dirt Owner this weekend. Just couldn't pass up a beautiful lot (to me) in the new Buttonwood V. Got a year to figure out how to sell my house and start the dream. thanks to all who have posted on this site. Lots of great info.
Question to those that have the Swim/Spa pool. I believe it's a single tub pool, meaning: no seperation of the pool area from the spa area. How do you use it most? I'm concerned that having the water at "hot tub" temp would be too much for using it as a swim workout. Or, Does the water lose heat fast enough, figure 102 down to 85 or so for a "threadmill" type swim workout. Or, Maybe you don't heat that much water to Hot Tub temp, too costly? I could be overthinking the situation. I've seen some models on the internet that have plexiglass dividing the two areas. Any input? thanks and see you all in two weeks for another visit. Carl |

We have one type of pool/spa combination which is just perfect for us since 2005. T&D Concrete built it and we have nothing but praise for this company. The pool and spa are separate concrete structures, but they share the same water, filtration and heating systems (gas and solar). There is a 'spillover' from the spa to the pool which mixes the water and keeps everything at 82 degrees when you select the "pool mode" on the controller. If you switch to the "spa mode" the water stays just under the spillover level in the spa and heats to the desired temp (usually 101), quickly.
We find that with minimal maintenance, this system keeps everything clean, which is a big issue with a spa. It also is more energy efficient than some other designs because you can segregate and heat just the spa quickly. |

No, not exactly the same as the one piece fiberglass swim/spa unit, but....
Any and all information is great to hear. Filed and cross referenced. I won't be building until Oct-Nov time frame. Glad to get all opinions. Thanks, Carl |
