Hello. We have started the Villages building process and looked to Villages4Rentbyowner for a temporary rental during construction (whew, that was a mouthful). 1st person (a male) contacted kept trying to bump the prices from what was quoted in the web site. When caught I got a `whoops' get back to you. No call. Second person takes days to respond and when they do it's like pulling teeth to get a straight answer. Now no answer at all. It this a legit business in The Villages? Where is the best place to rent as our new home is being built in Villages. Getting desparate...

We used Villages4Rent to list our house when we rented it out. The company is great...it's just some bad home owners that you got. Keep trying

I think most who post there are pretty honest and reputable. Sounds like you just had some bad luck. Give the details of when/where/how much here and I'm sure those who rent will happily send you a PM.

Spent June in TV and loved it. Now we have our house on the market in NC with anticipation of moving to Villages permanently but things are very slow here and we'll have to be patient. We would like to rent again in December and see what Christmas is like at the Villages. Can anyone direct me to at least 2 bedrooms and den/Fla room? We have a dog and our children will probably visit for a few days in Dec so need something big enough to throw down an air mattress or two for a few days. Thanks for any leads you can forward.

We have our house listed on thevillages4rent and have had nothing but positive experiences. Keep looking for something suitable then perhaps phone the owners instead of email as you'll get a better feel for the people you're dealing with. We've always gotten a good read of our prospective tenants that way. Good Luck!

I am currently renting a designer home I found on the Villagesforrent web site advertised on left of TOTV and so far so good. The owner took a while to respond my request and to finalize the rental agreement but in the end, the home is beautiful, well maintained and the owner appears to be quite honest and trustworthy. I expected the turnaround time for the paperwork to be much quicker, but I have come to understand that not all owners are "tech savvy" keeping up with emails and how to process attachments like some of us. So, we learn, and take it in stride,,,,,it all worked out in the long run for me at least.
