Default Temporary Internet Access

We will be starting a 6 day long LSP on Monday. Will be staying at Creekside Villas. I know there are certain places that you can get the internet, but my laptop is broken and of course I will not have my desk top with me. Is there anywhere in TV that has computers for public use? If I bought a new laptop while at TV, will I be able to get online in the Rec Centers with only a guest pass? Any suggestions on best place to buy a laptop would also be appreciated.

Default Internet Access

Hi and welcome to T.V.,

Savannah Center has a computer lab with PC's for use....not sure if guest pass will suffice but would think it would; suggest checking with your Sales Agent.

WIFI access is available at the Regional Rec Centers. I used it when we were here on LSV.

There is a Best Buy, Staples, Wal-mart, and Target in or near T.V. and all would have PC's for sale.

Hope this helps....Good luck!

Barnes and Noble also has WIFI if you have a laptop computer. I have used it before with my netbook.

when I used the free wifi with my laptop at the regional rec center a couple of years ago, you had to access it with your resident member #, not sure if just a guest pass will suffice - call to see if you can access with a guest pass only.

When we visited two years ago we could use the computers at Savannah Center with a guest pass, but we could not access WI FI at the Rec Centers with the guest card.

Computers you can use: Savannah Center (7-10) -- 60 mins; Sun-Sat); Mark Twain Library on Historic Side behind Paradise Rec. Center (9-5:00 M-F 9-12 Saturdays); closed Sundays) -- 30 mins if someone is waiting, unlimited otherwise; Library across from the high school -- 45 mins -- hours vary depending on day of week. The ID card you are issued (whether a "guest" or a "rental/resident" card will work for Savannah and the Mark Twain); just sign up for the public library.

You will need a PIN number to use a laptop at the rec centers. It is the same number you need to make golfing reservations, so if they give you a number for that, you'll be fine. You just log in with the ID number and then the PIN.

There are a few restaurants that have free WiFi -- Crispers on 466, Denny's on 441 and a few others.

If you want something relatively cheap, I'd go for a notebook. I have one and love it. They're lightweight and small enough to fit into a large purse but still have a reasonably sized screen. Makes them highly portable.

We were just on the LPP in January and stayed at Creekside. We used the WiFi at the Lake Sumter Sales office. Very comfy sitting there although we would have preferred access in our villa. Actually, we were surprised the villas did not have internet especially since we used our laptop to view homes for sale.

When I was a the Creekside Villas as part of my familiarization with TV, they had WiFi connections that I could use as part of the package. check with your agent.

Best prices for a laptop that will be supported nationwide would be at either BestBuy or Staples.

Enjoy your stay....

Do you have to have your own password to use WIFI? I will be renting a house in May that has WIFI, do I ask the owner for her password? I'm bringing my MAC laptop and I use airport at home for wirelesss. Never tried to access with Wifi.

Ask the owner if the WIFI in your rental unit is a secure network that needs a key(password).

If so, tell her you'd like to use the WIFI and need the key, otherwise you should just be able to connect.

Good luck.
