We live in FT Lauderdale and are thinking of coming up this weekend. Is there any unusual construction/road work we should know about? Anything big going on at either of the Squares? I know it is the busy season so we want to avoid any excess crowds or slow conditions.

Does anybody know how often the trolley tours run and when?

We were there for about 4 hours 3-4 years ago, will have a whopping 24 hours this time , any suggestions on how to maximize our time? Don't miss items?

this is the high season so the craft shows will be packed, if that's what you're coming to see, that's fine. the trolley runs (I think) each hour and you just need to get there 15 minutes or so ahead of time, they'll want you to register. It's about 45 minutes or so and not a bad overview.

what is it you're trying to accomplish?
the squares at night are always fun, depending on who's playing of course.

go to a couple open houses, new or resale, if you're looking for property.
be sure to get a Daily Sun newspaper in the morning, lots of daily stuff in there

We want to get a good overview and maybe see some of the houses, not really interested in the craft shows.

In reply to your question about road construction, we travel back and forth to the Boca area a few times a year. You'll find 14 miles or so of construction on the Florida Turnpike, beginning in Orlando. It's been that way ever since we started coming to TV in 2008. So far, it hasn't slowed us down yet but I always feel relieved when we get thru that area.

Default See Colony Cottage and Lake Miona rec centers.

There is always a lot to do. Tour a couple of the regional rec centers and peek in the rooms and see all of the dance classes, art classes, card playing, and numerous other activities. Have lunch at Mallory Country Club and dinner at Nancy Lopez. Turn to anyone and ask how they like it here. Walk along the boardwalk at Lake Sumter. Go for a couple of open houses, and include a new one and a resale.

If we all didn't have colds I would invite you to our house for a hot drink or a cold one.

Welcome! Come back again and stay longer....and than just come and stay.
