Default New 2014 Corvette. Your opinions?

Ok, what do all of you 'Vette enthusiasts (owners & wannabe owners) think about the all new 2014 Corvette? From strictly a styling standpoint did the Chevy designers hit a home run, or go too far?

My first impression, until I actually see one in person: I like it all, except for the rear end. Don't like the fact that they did away with round tail lights in favor of an almost identical Camaro style. But perhaps the typical round ones wouldn't have fit in with the radical angular lines on the tail end? And looking straight on at the rear window & rear hatch reminds me too much of a Chrysler Crossfire. But regardless, I sure wouldn't let these two minor things stop me from buying one.

Your thoughts?

Wouldn't you know it, I really like the back-end. Way cool!

GM had the unveil streamed live last evening - Sandy and I watched it here at the house. Pretty cool!

I had the same initial thought about the no-more-round-taillights as well. But given the body lines, etc., I think what they did with the rear end treatment works well.

One of the speakers involved in the unveil (can't remember which one) said (paraphrasing here) that they wanted the car to have more of a European flavor to it. I think they achieve that! And it looks like, at least from the description, video, and all the pics now up on the web, they've done a complete re-do on the interior. That's been a sore spot of sorts with a lot of people since the C5 came out in 1997.....and nothing much was done differently in the C6.

Between the C5 and the C6, which were in essence much the same in many respects, I think it was high-time for GM to make such a change for the C7. It's not a highly revolutionary redesign but more of an appropriate evolution of the car. We'll see how much the buying public likes it!!!

It'll be very interesting to see the car in person - be able to get sit in it, pop the hood, etc. But that won't be til this fall when they hit the dealerships.

The back end of the car, the lights look to "comaroish". But I do like the 4 pipes in the center a lot. I am not a fan of powder black rims either. Overall I like last years model better.

Why cant car makers actually remake a classic with today's technology? Is it because of the collectors market?

Thirdly, what the hell is up with the guys hair in the video?

My C-1 is very different from my C-5. So being different isn't a biggie for me. I have finally gotten used to the C-6......the Z06 body.
The C-7? I do not like the Camaro look in the rear....seems like a change for the sake of making a change....those round light have made through many model iterations.....till now.

I love it. That is one very cool looking car. They sure have made some changes since my 1978 silver anniversary vette with a 350 small block! I liked that they had the 1953 model sitting right next to it in the video.

Default c7

it's like every change with the vets over time, we are shocked and critical but it grows on you quick. Had a C5, now a C6, maybe a C7 in the future.

We had a 1995 Corvette in Polo Green that we kept for 4 years and traded in on a 1999 Lexus GS400. Should have kept the Vette.

New Corvette...looks like the Hyundai sports car they have which I don't recall the name.
