Default Attorney recommendations needed

Hi everyone. I need a recommendation for an attorney. I have searched past threads on TOTV and most of the recommendations are for estate planning or elder law attorneys. That’s NOT what I need. I need a civil attorney to set up a real estate LLC or possibly a trust and someone who can help me with pension paperwork. Both things could probably be handled by a paralegal. I’m relatively new to Florida and none of the attorneys I’ve used in the past are able to practice in Florida. I don’t need a legal superstar, just someone who is honest, ethical, and has reasonable fees. If they have an office in the Villages that would be great but driving as far as Ocala or Orlando would be okay.

Honestly, I would go to FL Bar Association site. Pretty specific in practice and location

I was in Oxford a couple days ago so I stopped in the Trotter office. The receptionist said they did do LLC’s but wouldn’t help me with the pension paperwork and more or less blew me off. She appeared to be more interested in finishing the fried chicken she was stuffing in her mouth than assisting me in setting an appointment so I left.

Thank you for the suggestion. That’s probably what I will have to end up doing but before I go to a complete stranger whom I know nothing about I was hoping to get a recommendation from someone on TOTV who had used a local attorney.

now this i would bring to someone's attention, Atty.Trotter. these guys did a wonderful, extremely professional job for us, -i'd highly recommend them. i'm not sure why you were brushed off, but AM sure someone higher up would be glad to know this. it's the last thing i'd expect from this firm & am sorry to hear

Don't let the receptionist stuffing her face with fried chicken at the front desk end the matter. She should only eat in the break room. Her bosses need to know of her conduct and how she is dealing with potential clients. It seems to me that a firm having an estate practice would have skill in dealing with pensions. I have run into poor receptionists at MDs, and dentists, too, and could tell some stories but won't. .

Guarantee that wouldn’t happen at Morgan and Morgan (For the People)! (Shameless plug!)

Default Marshall Law

Perhaps John Marshall of Marshall Law (gotta love that name) can help. He has done a wonderful job for us and his pricing is very reasonable. His website says he handles:
Estate Planning
Trust Administration
Probate
Guardianships
Medicaid & VA Planning
Business & Tax Issues

Just a moment...

Good luck!

Brett Swigert is an honest, local attorney that has helped me with many different things, his office us across from the Walmart on 27/441. He's local, born and raised here, in his 50s I believe and a very good attorney reasonably priced as well.

Sham Shanawany did our wills and trusts. He has a knack for explaining things in plain English. Trustworthy. Reasonable prices. Didn’t try to sell us any unnecessary stuff, insert his name into the will, or collect our financial information. He explained to us why in our case only our home needs to be in the trust. We are very happy with the services he provided.

I used Dean and Dean, they helped with advice on our wills and redid our deed here in TV for a reasonable price. Not sure about LLC but I would try them.

I have many clients who own real estate in a LLC. No big deal to set one up - go to Sunbiz.org to set up an LLC. A few questions to answer The Florida Department of State is backlogged so it's about a week for them to process the filing.

Once the state has processed your filing and you can check this by going back on line to Sunbiz.org and do a search. Once this shows up you're good to go to the next step.

Go to IRS.gov, search for "online SS-4", complete the questions and you'll have a EIN instantly.

What you need a real estate attorney to help with closings and such.
