Default Beautiful homes in TV

We have been in The Villages for a week today and I think that there is as much beauty inside the homes as outside. We have been invited to five homes this week and three if them are TOTV'rs. These people have been here for a very short time and yet there homes are so beautifully done and welcoming.

I wish people would take pictures of their homes and post some here. I keep starting decorating threads and many of us enjoy that.

I find that people who are living here year round have such beautiful momentos of their life and those like us snowflakes are trying to create a tropical feel. Given the facts that all homes are very similar, it is so interesting to see how each person defines their space.

How have some of you used the space between the windows in the Camellia/Gardenia?

Where is your TV? Where is your computer? How have you covered your windows? What colors have YOU used predominantly. I remember Chels said she used oranges and browns, I haven't seen hers yet (hint). HB showed pictures of her beautiful colors and neat sign in kitchen.

Humor me and tell us of your favorite part of your home, what you are looking for and can't find? What is your "theme", if any? Tell us about your house!

GG, I too am always looking for decorating ideas. We just bought a home in TV and I have looked at every home of the same model that is for sale for ideas, and printed pictures of ones I like.

Have you looked at HGTV's ratemyspace.com? It has lots of ideas, but it loads very slowly.

I love decorating and think you may have a great idea, GG. If one is worried about their home being copied to the tee, a picture of a small area or arrangement would be one solution. Also, names of the residents should not be included for security reasons.

Star, I couldn't wait to check out HGTV's ratemyspace.com but I can't get it to come up. Perhaps they are doing maintenance.

A hot tub, crown moulding and color on the walls. I love color.

Default My TV wannabee quandary

My Oregon Dream Home is completely furnished with Antiques, Yard Sale items, and Thrift Shop finds (except for new beds & new TVs). Nothing matches, and there is no theme - just comfort.

The 1500 sf 2-story house itself is spectacular (IMHO) with lovely wallpaper, 3 large skylights that open, colorful tiled bathroom, pale green marble bathroom, hardwood floors throughout. I don't have to worry about anyone copying my "style" cuz it's shabby chic and personalized to my taste (Picturetrail - member name is rosejolie).

My quandary..... would this style fit in with the TV luxury homes ?

CIB, we must be twins... I'm decorating the way I like it too, not following any rules. Shabby Chic, eclectic, antiques, different woods, nothing matches, and I just ripped up all the rugs and put in hardwood floors throughout the house. I just inadvertently copied YOUR style, sorry, so don't move next door to me in Hadley. The neighbors will think its the new trend!!

Default KathieI......

Congratulations on the hardwood floors; that's the only way to go when there are pet-people living there. Any house I purchase in TV will be converted to all-hardwood flooring

More about my "style".... I'm more of a minimalist rather than a collector - I have no knick-knacks, no clutter and if it isn't functional.... I don't want it! Maybe cuz I'm LAZY and hate dusting anything The floors get a swiffer every couple of days and I keep everything in its place ... yup, I'm a neatnik

Coney, I remember seeing pictures of your home, and yes, I think your style would fit in here. It was absolutely beautiful. You really have a decorating knack. I'm so jealous!

I am packing to go home. I recently saw a home here that was so spectacular and the view so splendid that my sweet Camellia now looks like a pile of doo doo.
