p.s.
Actually, older folks dying alone, unattended is NOT unusual. Younger ones.........yes indeed.

While doing my genealogy, I had several cousins tell me of folks in their family, mainly males, who had retired to Florida after becoming widowers.........

Without going into gory details that were relayed to me........anyone can imagine what a body lying on the couch would be like, in the Florida heat and humidity, being found a month later........all of their children were "up north". The four deaths in question all occurred during the summer months.........so I imagine that their neighbors might have also migrated back up north. The deceased were extended family of cousins.........they told me the stories while giving me the death dates for the family tree.

Again, not young person, but my own aunt was found dead at her kitchen table with her head on her arms.........she had just keeled over and died. Her husband found her when he came home for supper.........she was my confirmation sponsor.

Similar story, my daughter's husband's uncle was found the same way, at his dining room table........head slumped over his arms......which were resting on the table.
Nephew came to check and found him deceased.

Just remembered........a middle aged man, who had just played racket ball (indoors) with a friend of ours, was found dead in his reclining chair after eating a ham sandwich........watching t.v.........he was in his mid 40's at the time, leaving a wife and two children who all were "away"........
