By the way, the portion of the Turnpike between 301 and I75 is toll free.

I somehow miscommunicated once again. Sweetie doesn't take us on the turnpike to get to I 75.

When you look at the map I 75 kind of curves to the east as it is close to the bottom part of TV.

It is Buena Vista to 44 to I 75. That is how we go.

I think.

Default Nice map here

If you click on the link, you will see a nice map which can be zoomed in or out. On the left of the screen it shows 3 suggested routes you can select and get details for.

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...889,0.527&z=12

First is 301 up to Ocala through horse country. I like this as an option unless some major construction. Shorter, about the same time and nice change

The third suggested route on the map is the on Gracie takes..... I think

I have just come back to post again on this thread to tell you that I am as dumb as a rock. (which many of you already knew and some have told me) My geography teacher, Mr. Federer is rolling in his grave. It is the FLORIDA TURNPIKE that curves slightly to the east at the bottom of The Villages.

Tomorrow, we will get on I 75 which is very close to our home in West Chester, Ohio and stay on I 75 until we exit at Wildwood and we should be home with all of you about ten tomorrow night.

Please overlook my faults and come to my house next week for a get together. I think like Thursday?? How is that?

Here's my route:

Head west on 466. It curves to the right and becomes 475, running right next to 75. Continue to you get to route 484. Make a left, you will run right into an on ramp for I75.

Default Best Route to 75 north from 466A

The best and easiest route is to take 466A and turn left on 301. Take 301 south all the way to the Florida turnpike and turn right (about 1/2 mile south of 44) onto the turnpike and it will take you to 75 north. It is easier and quicker than taking 44 and dealing with the traffic before you get to the 75 north entrance ramp. Do the same in reverse when returning to the Villages. South on 75 and get on the turnpike towards Orlando. Get off at the first exit which is 301. You have to go south on 301 and do a U turn to get headed back north on 301. Turn right on 466A to get back to where you started.

Anybody out there remember "Bert and I"? One of their routines sounds somewhat like the above and the final answer was, "You can't get theyah from heyah".

Now that the bridge is open over the RR tracks, Route 44 seems to be the best way. The best way to get on 44 depends on where in TV you live.

BTW, I use the 44/I75 interchange twice a week and find it to be no problem. However, exiting when coming from Tampa can get a little hairy but this thread is not concerned with that approach.

Thanks for all the info -- passed it along to a friend who needed it. I usually go from 441 and I love taking the back roads (usually get myself deliberately lost and then use my GPS to get me back on track).

441 North to 484 (light just south of Mtk of Marion)
left on 484 to I-75 (exit 341) with a stop at Don Garlitz Museum of Drag Racing.

Staying on Buena Vista all way to 44 keeps you out of construction on 466A and it is a straight shot to I 75.
