We tried Clorox Mold and Mildew Remover Plus Tilex for our shower. It worked well but your results may vary. I highly suggest using ventilation and gloves as the product says it does have a VERY strong odor. If it’s a large area do a search as I know I have seen recommendations for tile and grout cleaning companies like this post below.

I have used the Mapei products for coloring/sealing grout as well as some other products that seem to be out of production. Both provided great results. The key is to clean the existing grout very well. I used a wheeled stool, and the appropriate brushes, cleaning agent and towels. I did small areas 20 to 30 square feet, about 1 to 2 hours and then applied the SAME COLORED SEALANT as the original grout. All of this was several years ago, and floors still look great.

Default Homemade Grout Cleaner

I have a homemade grout cleaner that I use. I mix the following in a large bowl, let it sit for about 2 minutes and then pour onto the grout and tile. You can let it sit for 5-10 minutes or use a little elbow grease with a tile brush to help it along. Wipe it up with a damp mop. It works better than any commercial product I've found.

1/2 cup baking soda
1/3 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup vinegar
7 cups water

If cleaning the grout does not work, you could try this product.

It’s basically a pain that you paint over the grout with. I used it a number of years ago on a tile floor. It does a great job, but as you can imagine it’s tedious and time consuming.

As you can see, it available at Home Depot in a number of colors.

SureClean Solutions - Tile & Grout Cleaning
I have tile everywhere except the bedrooms and over years have had different companies clean my grout, but I’ve never been happy with the result. Last year I finally gave in and had Sure Clean clean, color and seal the grout. Since then I’ve spilled 2 glasses of red wine and my husband dropped a large jar of maraschino cherries. I cleaned up the spills and you’d never know they happened.

Just finished cleaning and sealing our grout for the same issue. I used the Zep grout cleaner from Lowes. It has a built in applicator (small hole) in the bottle. Apply, wait three minutes, lightly scrub, wipe with a very wet towel to rinse, then with a dry towel and it’s clean. Had to repeat on a few very dark spots. I found it much easier to use a long brush handle for the light scrubbing and a sponge mop for the rinse (back and knee saver). Once it’s clean let it dry for a few days then apply sealer with a “grout wand” found on Amazon. Good Luck

Straight undiluted 5% white vinegar and a tile scrubbing tool (a handheld tool which is the size of an ice-skate-blade with hard bristles on the bottom sold at Lowes or Home Depot). Leave a few minutes then wipe with a wet rag. If you want to change the color entirely, Home Depot sells something called "grout renew colorant" which is $20 for an 8oz bottle.

There are multiple companies that clean grout -- have them clean all of your tiled areas. What a difference in the look of the floors....

I find what works best is to go golfing and swimming and don’t spend time looking at the floor.

I bought some brushes on Amazon that you attach to a power drill. I used a bleach solution and these brushes sure made a tedious job better. The grout was much brighter when I was finished.
