Blockbuster in TV has modified its membership quite a bit.
The local Blockbuster has changed its check-out policies and fees significantly.
I do not know if this is just at certain Blockbusters or not but the local one now charges late fees again. The fees depend on what kind of membership you have at Blockbuster. There is a free one and then a "Blue Rewards" one, and then an "Unlimited Access" one. This just started yesterday as far as I can tell. Last edited by Taltarzac725; 10-08-2008 at 01:42 PM. |

Mail
Blockbuster has a mail service that for $9.99/mo. you get 2 movies by mail and you can exchange them for 2 more in the same mo. right at the store.
Netflix has the something similar for $4.99/mo. but they don't have the in-store part of the deal. |

This summer I watched all seasons of The Office and now I have been renting The Wire. I worry though since it appears this Blockbuster only has Season One of The Wire and there were five seasons. I may have to purchase the entire set. I have found instead of renting movies I am enjoying shows made for TV. Tudors is next on my list. I have noticed the prices keep going up.

The nice thing about living in TV is that if you put a DVD in the mail on Monday, you usually have the replacement from BB on Wednesday since the DVDs come out of Daytona.

The Wire
Quote:
I got all but the last season of The Wire for free from Lake County Library System. The Lake County Library System does charge $40.00 per year for each household from Sumter County for a library card. You are OK though and can get a card without a fee, of course, if you live in Lake County or own property there as well as live in Marion County. Lake County Library System has an excellent selection of DVDs which you can request via there online public access catalog if you already have a library card. You can request anything from any of the libraries in their system. http://www.lakeline.lib.fl.us/ They do have the first season of The Tudors too on DVD. John N - Blockbusters is located in the plaza where Albertsons use to be located (Publix will be taking over). It is near the hospital; by 441.
Tal - Wonderful news. Thanks so much. I am sooooooooo into The Wire. I usually vist the library on Belvedere, but I will now check out Lake County.
