Default The British Royal Family

All of the major television networks have carried continuous and ongoing reports of recent events having to do with England's royal family. A prince is to be married, the present prince's spouse may someday be queen, hour-long prime time tv specials and interviews, etc.
Is all the blathering nonsense about the adventures of a completely irrelevant and outdated "royal" family really that newsworthy? Why all the attention? Who cares?

A lot of people do.

To me it is really no different than the huge public interest in movie stars for really not much more than their looks.

At least the monarchy is a part of history.

And...I betcha if you asked a lot of us girls we'd admit that we used to dream of marrying a prince.

It's romantic and ....well..romantic.

I am not sure that the wicked stepmother (Camilla) has finished her intervention yet.

There will be more to come.

The monarchy is not irrelevant nor outdated. The monarchy has had and continues to have a great influence on the affairs of the world.

Default I care

I see it as no different than our form of political princes/princesses....ie the media hype over Chelsea Clintons wedding....we all love a fairy tale....not the reality

The British Monarchy and the Royal Family is direct descendants of King David. A man after God's own heart. I have to admit that I love the history associated with her Majesty and her Royal Family.

From the history of the Coronation Stone to the Church of England, it is seeped in knowledge, history, current events and future happenings. Mark me a Royal watcher. It is sad, to me, that so much of this history and respect has been lost.

An event of this magnitude happens every 30 to 50 years or so.

Some people are fascinated by the pomp and cicumstance.

The fairly tale of marrying a prince.

Some people will look forward to this event as a cause of celebration.

Some people don't care.

Yesterday, it was announced that the weeding day will be a National Holiday for all. As the BIG day is a Friday, this makes for a nice long weekend for those who work

Not knowing much about British ways, is it called "weeding day" because all of the other girls were "weeded out"?
