I don't have expierence with local shops, only in St Petersburg. I will add though, get ceramic tint. It costs more, but the heat rejection is substantial! Cheaper tints do far less to keep IR and heat out

I did a light tint on the windshield of my sports car. You can't tell it is there unless right next to same car without it. It has a highly sloped windshield, so makes a huge difference in heat rejection and protecting leather dash. I would NOT do windshield on a n9rmal car or SUV, but on a sloped one like a Corvette C8 made a World of difference. ....just get the lightest tint possible, some shops do not even carry. And once again, Ceramic or better!

It also is illegal. I took a car to the sheriff ‘s station on a test drive to ask about the window tinting. The deputy took a look at it and said if the headrests are visible through the window it is good, if not, you get a ticket. Plaza Lincoln in Leesburg sold us a used car, and they had a contractor tint the windows, and they did a good job. Our Subaru came with a “Florida tint package”.

My auto dealer did my car, not the windshield, and it definitely impacts the heat inside the vehicle. This is no small matter because our weather is so hot here. I would recommend it but be mindful of the percentages allowed in Florida. I used Underglass for some of my home windows and they did a fantastic job.

Yes the shop on Main Street west side where all the golf carts are sold. TINT on the front of the building. They were very informative.

They make clear tints now that block UV rays. I have it on my Suburban and one of my classic cars front windshield.

So, is the information about SUVs vs sedans in Post No. 5 wrong?

I don’t think by law you can’t do windshields unless it’s very light. The side windows they have laws how dark you can go I went as dark as I could go but at night sometimes I would have to put window down to see the roads, windshield & rear window they’re not allowed to do & if the do you barely notice! Maybe Florida is different, I got stopped in W. Virginia & was told W. Virginia if I was going to move there I would have to strip the film & have them 2 shades lighter.

The doper’s do that some can’t see the 9’s they pointing. Then dopes wonder why they get pulled over with dark windows which leads to search of drugs.

Default Local Tint shop in Wildwood

I used Sambo's Customs to tint the windows in my SUV. They knew the legal requirements and met them. Location 305 South Main St. Wildwood Fl. 352-748-4840. Their shop doesn't have much customer appeal, but that usually means they are focused on the work vs the customer lounge.

As an aside I read all the comments prior to this note. I'm amazed at the variety of responses, some good, some bad.
