CBS-tv Tennis Coverage..
It was noted by the announcer on CBS-tv during the US Open Women's final match that during just one point Jelena Jankovic covered the equivalent of a 45-yard run of an NFL running back. True, she didn't have to contend with defensive linemen but it surely indicated just how much exercise one can get from tennis. CBS provided, during a replay, a "tape" on the screen showing how much territory Jelena covered on the court during that one point.
Men's final this evening. |

Re: CBS-tv Tennis Coverage..
Heck, the way most weekenders play it is probably close to a MILE for each point
The problem with tennis at a low level is that most people don't chase the ball and just give up the point without effort. I feel that pickleball is better suited for most people and a heck of a lot of fun! |

I played my first ever game of tennis just two years ago and my first pickleball game about 6 months ago. I agree that Pickleball is a lot more fun and IMHO a better work out. But, when I can find partners to play with, I am very happy to play either game. Pickleball DOES keep the old reflexes sharp that's for sure! Wish I could get a game in during my upcoming visit. Jojo is playing tennis with me, though, and that's super. Thanks for the comments. Stay well. |

Re: CBS-tv Tennis Coverage..
A vote for tennis here. In my brief foray into pickleball, it seems to me to be primarily about reflexes. I enjoy tennis a great deal more. However, I concede that pickleball is easier to learn.
