We had a nice adventure and excellent lunch in Deland today. The drive was a bit over an hour. We went by way of Hwy 42 and 44. I found the downtown area absolutely delightful. Clean, decorated very nicely, lots of nice shops, and wish I had more time to browse the whole area.
We had lunch at Urban Brick (Urban Brick | Modern Italian Food In DeLand, FL), which offered wonderful appetizer and entree selections. On Sundays, Urban Brick opens at noon. Since we got there a bit early, we browsed in the shop next door (can’t remember the name), that offered many Italian pastries, artisanal biscotti, salad dressings, desserts, breads, etc. Yum! For lunch, I chose the linguini Alfredo with spinach and mushrooms. My husband chose the chicken parm sandwich with side salad and house dressing. Very delicious, the lunch portions were just right, and the prices were competitive for what we ate. On the other side of Urban Brick was an Asian food/supply store, then a pet store/grooming called (get this) “Gurr and Purr”. So cute! If you get a chance, you should take a day to drive over there and check it out!

There's several nice places for a meal in DeLand.
Blue Springs is a favorite place to stop, especially during cold snaps when the spring fills with Manatee. Last edited by Altavia; Today at 05:18 AM. |
