I have stopped all soda 20 years ago. Sparkling water is my go to.

This is a drop in the flood of alarm that is scaring people daily!!!
What's the source? Who are the "experts."
It's true that artificial sweeteners change gut flora but the rest is bs.

Used to be coke could be used as a paint stripper. Wonder if that is still the case.

I think this is just like many other things in life. If you drink it in moderation it will never hurt you. Red meat is high in protein and eaten once or twice a week is fine and good for you. Eat it seven days a week and you can be sure your arteries will need a Rotor-Rooter job to clean them out. The truth is something eventually is going to kill us all. So go about life enjoying yourself, do things in moderation and stop worrying about things like this.

India.com?

lol ... the India equivalent of FOX News. It's so far to the right, it can barely stand up straight. But, if you consider this nonsense a credible news source, carry on.

And by the way, stay away from windmills - they cause cancer.

Got a question? Why do peanuts float in in a reg. Coke but not in a Diet Coke?

Worry does raise your cholesterol. Wife worries about everything. I deal with what is, not what might be or could be. We eat the same food, actually I eat far more fat and cheese yet, my cholesterol is far better. Point worrying about this and other xxxxxx is killing people.
Nearly every situation and everything is either too small and not worth your time to worry about or too large and nothing you can do about it. Worry is the result of allowing someone else control you and your life. Take charge, be in charge and don’t worry about it.

Never heard of India.com, never heard of the author. The article does not reference a valid scientific study. There is a valid peer-reviewed study that shows a slight increase in various causes of death by consuming sugared or artificially sweetened beverages. Nobody can figure out why exactly. May have to do with changes in gut flora, as someone previously mentioned, and agree with the poster who mentioned moderation.

Listen ...... Don't worry about it. Eat, drink and be merry and have sex as often as you can. Life is short, so enjoy what you have.

“Supposedly healthy soft drink”? Shocked that anyone would have considered Diet Coke to be healthy.

But it does wonders for a headache. Rarely drink any type of soft drink or anything with caffeine. But for a headache my go to is Coke Zero before taking any meds. Supposedly it’s the caffeine that takes care of my headache but I do not get the same results with caffeinated tea.
