My pizza of choice is Sicilian which has a nice thick crust: sort of like a pan pizza but not really. No need to fold it.

As an aside......my Mom used to make home made Sicilian pizza from scratch, including the dough. Oh, it was soooo good. "Manjiare"!

If you were raised in Brooklyn , you folders your slice . It was thin , not thick. I figured 12 million people couldn’t be wrong.😊

Fold your laundry, not your pizza!😁

A good Chicago style thin crust cut in squares doesn’t need folding.

I'm a west coast guy for me it on the size of the slice and the crust. If you have a large slice of thin crust the tip of the pie will droop, so you fold that bad boy.

I am from Queens and spent lots of time on SI. Joe and Pat’s is my favorite pizza joint! And yes I fold my genuine NY Pizza (made in a Mom & Pop shop in greater NYC area) because the slices are BIG unlike the national pizzas chains where there is no need to fold the pizza due to its minimal size.

You should not only fold the pizza but you have to squeeze the back so not to lose all that oil....I miss Ken Ed’s pizza in the Bronx!

I have never folded my pizza slices that I can recall.

Taking a break from watching Rami Malek and Denzel Washington's The Little Things which mentioned that a suspect must be from "back East" because he folds his pizza.

And this is a hard movie to watch.

Do you fold your pizza slice? I remember a few people doing this but not many. I am around a number of native New Yorkers (NYC) here in Lynnhaven.

I am a native Cheesehead born in Milwaukee but moved to Reno, Nevada when I was ten. Parents are from a suburb of Chicago.
Yes, if you are eating a delicious, dripping slice of great New York pizza, folding it at the crust edge strengthens the “spine” of the crust under the filling and helps you get it into your mouth. If you don’t, you will need a plate and fork and knife, and if you buy a carry-out slice, that’s not how it comes. Furthermore, you may need your other hand to help you bring the skinny edge to your mouth for the first wonderful bite. If you’ve ever eaten really good New York pizza in The City (not available anywhere in The Villages, alas), you understand why those of us who love it really love it and why we fold it.

yes, Stu-when i was in the city, i often saw busy men (ie: cab drivers, street crews) doing hands on work, fold the pizza to eat it faster, & they claim less mess. i have rarely seen females do this- i never folded, & always liked the deli-style that had the thicker crust with just sprinkle cheese aka sicilian style.

How else would you eat a New York style pizza. When you pick it up it almost folds it’s self length wise thus folding it width wise to eat it.
