Despite the picture caption in today's Daily Rag (A22), Mercury hasn't shrunk by "more than 30%".
That would be nearly 1,000 miles, not the 14 miles in reality. It has shrunk by 30% MORE than previously thought (so just 3 miles more). |

Just like most everything else today. The more disastrously the author (poster) can present it, the more chance that "it" has a chance of being watched. |

"Attack on America - more than 10,000 presumed dead" Certainly, information was thin on the ground, but a figure of well over three times the actual does smack of media sensationalism. |

When I saw this thread title I was sure the post was going to be "So long, and thanks for all the fish."
I'm disappointed, not even a vague reference or mention of a towel. Carry on. |

Are you a Galaxy Quest fan, too? |

I was on a cruise recently where we saw the total solar eclipse. Afterwards, they had a “Space” costume party. I was going to put on a bathrobe, throw a towel over my shoulder, and go as Arthur Dent. The wife wasn’t too impressed with the idea.
Read all the books(was 5 or 6) of the ‘trilogy’. Still have them someplace.

Of course I am wondering if AI can reach the same answer of 42.

My first psychology professor said that "Normal" was nothing but a setting on the dryer.

Didn't see the movie. But I've read every book Doug Adams wrote and used to play the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy text game when it was included in a bundle called The Lost Treasures of Infocom, back in 1991.
