Default The Effects of Hurricanes

Will Florida’s coastal residents be moving to The Villages? An interesting article in today’s Daily Sun got me thinking that the recent hurricanes may actually help the buildout of The Villages. According to the article, some coastal residents are leaving the barrier islands along the gulf coast and not rebuilding as hurricanes have intensified along the gulf coast of Florida. Affordability is definitely in play. Where will these Florida residents go?

Where will the thousands of new retirees in the next decade decide to live? Central Florida seems a very likely place IMHO. That includes places like the Orlando metro area, Ocala and of course The Villages. Brace yourself for continued rapid growth of The Villages!

Flip a coin and/or ask me in 2 years. Have same thoughts. We came from the east coast of Florida and insurance was high then($4,500 in 2020) and now a lot more higher (do not have exact number but friends are paying 7K for similar homes)

If you check the Newest Villagers boards in the Sales Centers, it's not uncommon for 1/3 or more of the list to be from Florida.

Of course some of those are Villagers buying their next home here.
