One of the major decision points in buying a golf cart is how far will it go with the selling point for Gas carts being the distance. I know we went back and forth on this and finally decided on a new 2 passenger 2008 Club car electric Precedent.

I'll post our experience with it so far for those who are considering Gas vs electric.
I actually haven't measured how far in actually miles it will go but I have gone this far so far with no problem(2 people on board).

1.Starting at the Village of Caroline, Coconut cove Rec Center we were able to go all the way down Morse Blvd to 466A and drive a bit around the new Shopping center there then go to Truman golf course and up Canal St and Buena Vista to Laural Manner and then to the Polo Field then up to Savanna Center. From there we went to Spanish Springs and back down Morse to Coconut Cove Rec center in the dark. During this trip we also played 9 holes of golf. Our battery light did come on indicating 1/4 charge on our final return to Coconut Cove-so I think we had a fair amount of battery left when we returned. To be honest I don't think our bodies could have gone much farther.

2.On another journey we left from Coconut Cove down Morse Blvd to 466 then up 466 to Buena Vista Blvd. Up Buena Vista all the way to the furthest course from us - Saddlebrook Golf course - played 9 holes and returned in the dark. Battery light didn't come on so we had a lot of battery left.

Overall so far we are pleased with the electric and its range - hopefully it will keep good distance as the batteries age but with new batteries we are pleased. Anyone have trips they care to post (good or bad) - if so please post age of batteries and make of cart and high speed motor or standard. mileage

I rented a cart for a week back in January. It was gas. I drove for hours each day, and in fact went from 466A all the way up Buena Vista to 42 at the north end of TV and back to Liberty Park. I drove to LSL, SS, Target, Colony Center, and just went for rides as I smoked cigars.

Still had better than 1/2 tank of gas left when I was done.

I think I will be buying a gas cart because I have a real paranoia about battery life. I worry when I sit with my car off and the radio on. I have concern using a flashlight excessively. Maybe I should see someone?

I know it's me, but I just don't want to get stuck. I'd be a bag of nails of that light came on while I was driving!!
