If you have multiple accounts (checking, saving, spousal, business, etc) and you want to see one common picture of all your finances, you should be using something (e.g., Quicken) that links directly and securely to each bank's accounts and presents the information in one common framework
If you and your spouse both do grocery shopping, it's nice to have ONE summary of spending. If you both donate to charities, using Quicken (or similar) will save you a lot of time. |

With a 5 minute effort you can design a custom spreadsheet to do whatever you want and how you want to do it.
On mine I just enter debits, credits date, payee and/or check number and the rolling balance is calculated. Color formating distinduishes check from online payment and data functions can do many useful things like find an inadvertant double monthly payment (that I did to SECO once.) |

When Microsoft Money was discontinued I switched to GnuCash which is free.
It works well for me for tracking seven checking/savings accounts and two credit cards. I particularly like the reporting capability that can tell me where my money has gone (just how much do I spend on dining out and which restaurant gets most of my money) and how fast it is going. This really helped when deciding whether retirement was a possibility and helps today when deciding if we can afford that next vacation. Quicken should have similar capabilities but I haven't use it.

Been retired a good few years now, and happy to say we have spent most of our savings.
The bonus is, we can now work our finances out on the back of an old envelope. |

I save all of the install files for my apps and use them to reinstall whenever I get a new machine. I have the Money app and also the Windows 98 games which are no longer offered but still work.

Only if google used an app, told you it was a waste of time or a brilliant time saver. That the ads were annoying, so don’t bother. Then and only then could Google be you friend, otherwise Google may or may not contain useless needless information
