Golf Cart Options
What options do you feel are necessary when purchasing a golf cart?
Seatbelts; windshield wipers; cigarette lighter (to plug in nav systems, etc); side panels, or anything else that comes to mind???? Also, what is the opinion in two seater's vs four seater's. Thanks

My Thoughts Seatbelts=Yes Rain/cold enclosure=Yes Cigarette lighter=Maybe (mosy nav sysytems have rechargable battery) Windshield wipers=NO (will scratch the plastic) Fold down windshield=yes Cloth seat covers=Yes (vinyl is hot and doesnt breath) Lights, stop lights, turn signals. 4way flashers=Yes Floor protector for spikes=Yes Fan=Would be nice Heater=Would be nice on cold nights Mirrors and more mirrors=Yes Reflective tape and or reflectors=Yes Handie :joke: PS: Those darn 4 seaters stick out in the street when parked and look ugly but I have to admit they are practical also check your garage for room and wear shin guards :dontknow:

Re: Golf Cart Options
Nice to have, but not mandatory:
Speedometer/odometer. People ask what kind of mileage I get. I have to answer in weeks or months. I don't know how many miles I drive between fills. And w/o a speedometer, you really don't know how fast you're going so if the fuzz is going to start busting us, it'd be nice to know. A lot of folks have gotten an old Schwinn-type bicycle speedometer and mounted it on the dash. Works well. Fuel gauge. The float type works well. Handie referenced those darn 4-seaters. Many/most of them remove the basket that sits behind the seat on a normal cart. You need that basket and room for a small cooler. And the darn things do stick out too far. If you're getting a gas cart, add an extended tail pipe going out the rear. It quiets it a bit and pushes the fumes out the back instead of straight up to you. A strip of something below the windshied to block rain from coming through. Many of us use those swimming tubes but they do offer overly priced plastic strips.

Re: Golf Cart Options
Wanna check your speed?? Take your GPS with you and it will show the exact speed if you have the menu set up for it. Good point on the exhaust pipe extension Mr Muncle otherwise "cough cough" Handie :joke:

Re: Golf Cart Options
Ignition key security....minimally, a key that is unique to your cart; optimally, digital keypad to enter in an unlock code.
