As posted in another thread there are currently problems with Google Maps. A local TV station did a story about the city of Canton Ohio, home of the NFL Hall of Fame was no longer listed. Sure enough if you go to Google Maps and enter in Canton Ohio it places you in the town of Massillon Ohio. On the map it shows Canton as Colesville.

Wonder if this is a hack / prank for the famous Massillon / Canton McKinley high school football game.

I just looked at Google Maps for TV and it shows Morse Blvd stopping at Stillwater Tr. It also shows the intersection of Canal Street and Old Camp Rd. as being in the middle of a lake. And to top things off they forgot to put water in Lake Sumter. I checked for the PV that is used last December and the street name is incorrect. Google Maps has some serious issues.

Doing a Google search I read a couple of articles that Google is now trying to use their own collection of map information to create their own navigation program. One article stated that they are using a collection of older documents to create their own database and not have to pay another party for the information.

Well it looks like the database is all screwed up and it may be to late to go back to their old vendor.

The TV streets south of CR 466 disappeared from Google Maps a few weeks ago. Map Quest still has the correct streets. I sent Google an email a few weeks ago to report the problem, but never heard back.
