Modelo! Bud Light lost out to Modelo for title of America’s most popular beer in May: report | Fox News

The irony:

"Grupo Modelo is a large brewery in Mexico that exports beer to most countries of the world. Its export brands include Corona, Modelo, and Pacífico.[2] Grupo Modelo also brews brands that are intended solely for the domestic Mexican market and has exclusive rights in Mexico for the import and distribution of beer produced by Anheuser-Busch.[2] Until the 1960s, Grupo Modelo used red poppy flowers in most of its advertising.

On June 12, 2008, The Wall Street Journal stated that Anheuser-Busch InBev, which owned a non-controlling 50% stake in the company, might attempt to acquire the remaining 50%.[3] On June 29, 2012, it was announced that Anheuser-Busch InBev would acquire the remaining 50% stake for an all-cash price of $20.1 billion.[4] On January 31, 2013, the US Department of Justice filed an antitrust suit in an attempt to prevent the buyout. The matter was settled and the two companies merged in June 2013,[5] with the transfer of all United States rights to Constellation Brands.[6] As a result, all of the company's brands are made (in Mexico) by an unrelated company. In the United States, Grupo Modelo brands are distributed by Constellation Brands."

Just wondering why my post was taken down twice. It did NOT violate any of the forum rules.

Survived a recession and now it appears like another Depression in the near horizon.

Bud light? Target? Nordstrom? Hopefully they will no longer exist by next year. Target and Nordstrom were on the chomping block already, on the same list as bed, bath, and beyond and Best Buy

Perhaps because the whole thread is about politics without actually saying politics. If it weren't for the the culture war link would anyone seriously give a rats butt about Bud lite sales?

Don't believe in the freedom to have a different mindset than yours? 1,000s of people work for those companies, but they offended the snowflakes and now they want them to go out of business. What a country!

I like Mexican beer too. My favorites are Carta Blanca and Corona. I usually drink the South American beer they have at Aldi. I don't like drinking out of twist top bottles, I like ones that need a church key because they are smooth on my lips.

That said, I had a Bud Light yesterday, for the first time, and thought it was quite good.
