"Grupo Modelo is a large brewery in Mexico that exports beer to most countries of the world. On June 12, 2008, The Wall Street Journal stated that Anheuser-Busch InBev, which owned a non-controlling 50% stake in the company, might attempt to acquire the remaining 50%.[3] On June 29, 2012, it was announced that Anheuser-Busch InBev would acquire the remaining 50% stake for an all-cash price of $20.1 billion.[4] On January 31, 2013, the US Department of Justice filed an antitrust suit in an attempt to prevent the buyout. The matter was settled and the two companies merged in June 2013,[5] with the transfer of all United States rights to Constellation Brands.[6] As a result, all of the company's brands are made (in Mexico) by an unrelated company. In the United States, Grupo Modelo brands are distributed by Constellation Brands."

Not a fan. Prefer craft beer, currently drinking Terrapin IPA and Voodoo Ranger IPA. Smooth and satisfying, unlike that bland/bitter domestic water beer.

I also love Voodoo Ranger IPA, but on the light side, I now drink Yingling. Their Flight brand is low calorie and thirst quenching. Oldest brewery in America I think.

Interesting. I guess it depends on your source. Per 10 Best Selling Beer in the United States (Updated 2023) the best selling beer in America is still BUD LIGHT. 2 is Coors Light and 3 is Miller Lite.

That may have been true back on January 31, 2023, the date of the article you cited, but no longer. BUD's marketing misstep severely damaged the Bud Light brand.

"In the more than seven weeks since consumers first revolted over Bud Light's apparent partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney, some stores have been forced to give away the beer for free, with Bud Light even resorting to buying back unsold, expired beer from wholesalers, according to The Wall Street Journal. "

So we have no right to not do buy from businesses that we think are anti American?

I generally just roll my eyes a the "pride" stuff. It seems like corporate pandering. And I really don't care how you express your love for other people. It's none of my business, just as it's none of your business about me and mine. Consenting adults, and all that.

Where this goes off the rails for me is the bizarre desire to pull children of all ages into it, especially the gender dysphoria/trans aspect. It's one thing to perhaps think you might be gay as a 14 year old, act out for bit, and then decide it's not for you. It is quite another to think you are the opposite sex, and start taking puberty blockers, hormones, and eventually undergo surgery. There is no turning back from that if you later decide it was just teen-age angst taken too far, and supported by the adults in your life and society at large.

No one should be allowed to undergo any transitioning until they are a legal adult. And you must continue to use the public bathroom of your birth gender, and you can't complete against women/men as a man/woman. The "rights" of a tiny minority should not trump everyone else.

And if you join the military and then decide to transition? Sorry. You joined as a man or woman, and that is what you will be until your service time is up. Then, you can do what you want.

That said, I had a Bud Light yesterday, for the first time, and thought it was quite good.

Amen on all points. I may want to be something I'm not (I don't) but saying I am something different does not make it so. I feel for those who aren't happy with who/what they are but calling themselves something different changes nothing. The natural maturing process is problematic enough for our youth of today without the additional emotional burden and confusion created by this craziness.

It is so nice to see what gets old people up in the morning. As far as Anheuser-Busch being financially ruined by people who think they are so important they can make the company pay by boycotting Bud Light… Here's they cut and paste from their profit statement of their their 23 brands of beer last year........
Anheuser-Busch gross profit for the twelve months ending March 31, 2023 was $31.931B, a 1.68% increase year-over-year. Anheuser-Busch annual gross profit for 2022 was $31.481B, a 0.88% increase from 2021.

I've been to the brewery, several times. It's in Athens, GA.

My youngest went to UGA (Go Dawgs!) and we'd go there when I'd visit...

They have a great variety of beers...
