We have 2 cells and Magic Jack(computer phone). We are saving quite a bit of money each month but the quality of both frustrates me alot!

If it were up to me I would have a good old fashioned land line. IMO the cells and the magic jack are poor quality for long conversations. All sorts of delays and interruptions. When carrying on long conversations, you should not sacrifice quality for a few dollars.

Middle of the road solutions, Ooma Internet phone (ooma.com). Not a landline, not a cell. VOIP Internet, maybe call it cloud phone. Superior voice quality. One time upfront cost then just $3.47/mo for federal regulatory fees.

Additional Premium package, $10/mo, adds useful features. Multiple numbers from anywhere in the US, ex. one number for Florida and a separate number for friends up north. Multi-ring to simultaneously ring connected phones and cell phones. Low cost international calls. Bluetooth cell phone link. Voicemail forwarding to email. Take it with you when you move, snow bird, or even travel abroad (assuming you have high-speed internet).
