Default History of The Villages

I have a book that is titled The Villages Then and Now. The book is written by Lee King PHD and I have found it very interesting. I purchased mine, some time ago, at All Booked Up on Bichara Blvd by Publix in The Villages. The book will let you know how and where this place started.

The book was written in 2006 and will let you know about Harold Schwartz and his son Gary Morse. Where they came from and how they got here. The book explains the difference in their names, stating that when Gary Morse's parents divorced during the mid 1940's his mother insisted that he take his stepfather's non-Jewish sounding name because she feared the Nazis would invade the U.S and harm Jewish-Americans.

I suggest it to those who have moved to The Villages and haven't seen it.

Out of curiosity tried searching for it in our library system in the Hudson Valley (many member libraries), and not one has a copy of it. On the one hand, it's not applicable to the Hudson Valley, but on the other, with TV having such wide appeal, one would think the book would have more than a very limited circulation/distribution. Hmmm....
