Default Hole in one story

As mentioned before, I play with the same foursome every Saturday morning at 6:15 AM. Last week we get to the driveable par 4 seventh which was playing to 265 yards. We can usually reach the green so we always wait for it to clear and then go for it. Last Saturday my friend Ed hit his driver and it looked like a perfect shot. But the problem was that the fog had not cleared yet so we couldn't really see the green with real clarity, plus the green is raised about 20 feet. When we got to the green we saw a nice ball mark on the green with the dew trail leading to the cup. Yep, it was in the hole. His first hole in one and it came from 265 yards! Cost me $25 plus a $10 double eagle towards the nausau but it was worth it for the story we could tell.

Just thought you'd enjoy the story.

Anyone have any good hole in one stories that they have been a part of?

Russ

I had my one and only hole in one (Even a blind sow runs into an acorn every once in awhile) on a Friday night on the ninth hole of our neighborhood course when everyone was eating and drinking at the bar and the ninth hole could be seen from the the bar.

Now I have to let you know that I was a cheerleader before it required coordination. My history of sports included a lot of closing my eyes when a ball was thrown at me. I can't chew gum and walk. HOWEVER I will replay this in my mind until the day I die. I hit the sweetest nine iron and it went up in the air just the way it should over the deep culvert that we all threw a dozen titleists into at the beginning of each season to appease the god of golf, and it landed on the green about 12 inches from the hole and slowly rolled back down the slope and into the hole. I had to buy the whole bunch drinks. But oh land it was worth it. That was 30 years ago. sigh. I have the picture and the ball right here next to me. THANK YOU So much for allowing me to brag.

Oh wow!! 040 Congratulations that had to be so exciting and an audience, no less!! I've never had a hole in one and can't even imagine all the excitement. Waytogo, Gracie! (Grace is my granddaughter's name and I love it.)

And now can you repeat that performance?

Wow great for both of you. Closest I ever got was tee shot from an elevated tee box. And I mean like over 100 feet elevated. Bounced so hard it bounced into the cup, then out, ball landed two inches from the cup. Oh well I guess I'll have to keep playing until I get one.

I have had two. Both short par 3's, 154 yds and 145 yds. First one was a green where there were front bunkers and we couldn't see the cup, so we went up and was sure the ball hit the green, but thought it must have run off the back. Went looking when one of our foursome walked up and looked in the cup and there it was. The second one was an elevated green and we saw it hit roll and drop in. Both very exciting and costly. On the second one my "so called partner" called the club house from the tee and started the bar bill.

I also had an eagle on a 428 yd par four from 175 yds out. Had witnesses for all of them. Had a couple others that were gimme-es, but nothing is as exciting as actually getting that ball in the cup on the first swing off the tee.

Russ, one from 265 yds must have been really a moment to remember.

I just wish the 265 yard shot was mine.

I've had many (maybe 5 or 6) shots from over 100 yards out on par 4's and 5's that have found the bottom of the cup for eagles but never a hole in one. Close dozens of times (heck I play enough golf) but never in.

I'll save it for when I move to TV!

L2 - I would consider 154 and 145 excellent shots. Perfect par 3 length if you ask me. Kudos!
