I wouldn't care for the job myself, I imagine you have to read too much of this stuff, referee , and make a judgment about who needs thumping, banning or time out, and the worst of it is when everybody wants to be the moderator and do the thumping themselves.

I have been so mad and frustrated on this forum and allow myself to be drawn into fracases that weren't worth the blood pressure rise. I have thought about jumping off the Morse Bridge, but would probably only skin my knees.

...I would worry about my blood pressure a little too much, probably start gaining weight, and need some kind of punching bag to compensate for the self-control needed to not go mental on some frequent posters as well as many infrequent ones.

Probably I would not be authoritarian enough to do the job of Moderator.


I could do it on Topix. com though as only the very worst posters seem to get booted off of there.

I, for one, would let anything go. If one is uneasy seeing others views, don't go to the board of politics. There is a big election coming up with many candidates running for President on the two major party tickets, many for US Senate. Let people have sensible conversations.

I would allow the political forum to be open like it used to be using our regular screen names.
I would warn all, when opting in on the political forum;

if you do not like the content do not opt in.

If you do opt in you agree not to criticize the content in other forums.

And just like today when political content is obvious....take the easiest cure of all....DO NOT OPEN IT!!

Please remember the real negative and the percieved negative issues with the political forum were and are still the result of less than a handful of participants.

As a result of the few the political forum gets undue bashing .....in the regular forums.

And that is my $3.357284 worth (2 cents with inflation)

I would ask for a replay before making any decisions. And I have a few I would like to replay.

I would attach a Like and Dislike button under each post.

That way, people can express their disagreement or even outrage with a single symbol, without writing insults and tirades that drive newer or meeker people out.
