Wow.... Just read the story of Emma the Hummingbird. She had two babies and an orphan baby was placed in her nest and she is feeding and caring for the orphan as well as her two. The orphan's name is Hope. Interesting and heartwarming story.

The fact that the nest is the size of a golf ball is unbelieveable to me.

K9 I'm a nervous wreck worrying about these babies and all the activities going on. The person caretaking the nest keeps messing with it and changing it around; the orphan doesn't look too active to me and I'm hoping that she will thrive in the new nest. The eagles are starting to walk around the nest and one keeps looking out over the edge and it's a long way down. Yikes.... I need prozac.

Update on Phoebe.....After her babies left the nest she started working on refurbishing a nest she had used earlier....it is in the same rose bush but below the nest she just used.

today I visited the site and lo and behold she has a little egg in the new nest and the host owners have repositioned the cam so we have a good view of the nest.
