Default Hurricane Ike

Has there been any information broadcast on Florida weather stations regarding Hurricane Ike? A very brief mention on a station in NY indicated it is on a path similar to Donna in the 60's which would bring it into Central Florida.

Latest track seems to be taking it further south than first predicted....perhaps over Cuba then westward into the Gulf. It's still too far out to determine where on the US coast it might hit. It seems unlikely at this point to hit Central Florida.... whew.

Thanks V07. I'll be arriving in TV late next week and I was curious if Florida was receiving more info on Ike than we are up North.

In the middle of the night, half asleep, I think I heard/saw someone say that it may take the path of Andrew and people were advised to rethink their plans to vacation in the Miami area in the next week. However, that is what comes with falling asleep with the TV on. I don't know for sure.

that's funny graciegirl. Don't fall asleep watching "Wizard of Oz" or you'll think another tornado hit TV. ;D

Yes, just watched and seems to be veering southwest, but might hit the Keys by Tues or Wed. Now it looks like Central FL will not get much of it. Let's hope.
