We had some issues with Comcast (more customer service attitude based than actual product issues) and switched to CenturyLink about 2 years ago. We found there might be more flexibility with on demand and DVR options with Comcast, but overall CenturyLink was less expensive; they extended promotions for us after the initial period was up, and they seem to try harder to resolve issues ... even coming on a Sunday to fix something.
We haven't gone the DirectTV route because we heard that bad weather (rain especially) has more of an effect on the service - and with all the storms we get here, didn't want to risk being without cable that often. We're hoping some time soon BrightHouse will be providing service north of 466 since that's what we have before moving to TV. |

We currently have Comcast, but are seriously considering swithing to DirectTV because they have the Genie that can be viewed at several locations and you can record up to 4 channels on one base unit. The cost is supposed to be cheaper that Comcast and there will be more channels. We don't have HBO or Cinemax or any movie channels except Starz, so the bill should be considerably cheaper.
I have also heard that if you are watching a program in HD and a storm knocks out your signal, you can switch to the standard definition channel and it is not blocked. Probalby won't work with all the sports channels, but that doesn't concern us either. I am just not looking forward to all the hassle of switching and learning the new channel lineups.

Hi TNLAKEPANDA: consider if the merger is allowed it will open Comcast to WiFi meaning that they can add cell phones to their bundle and that is hat I want one company to handle TV Internet and all my phones.

Comcast has done well by me. It did take a little time but I learned where to go and who to speak with. and the rest of the story is they made these folks available and they did listen

I am guessing that those of you that like the service from century-wink [emoji6] are south of 466A. I live just south of 466 and we are limited to 6 mps DSL service for our internet. And that's if everyone else in the village is asleep. Many times I get less than 2 mps download. No joy in Mudville with that kind of 1990s speed. Worse, they won't let me out of 1 yr contract for less than $200!! Not happy with century-sink[emoji13]

I dropped Comcast about a month ago and switched to century link internet only. Too expensive, too deceptive, too irritating...
Century link is fine, only one modem/wireless router at best buy, unless you pay the monthly fee. Good luck! |

Beware! I am sure they have people working with the company that would post other - beware - shoddily installed (wires everywhere), numerous calls that go nowhere. Can not put a television where you would like it. Send people up on saturday to fix your problem and then charge you!

Hello, anyone find internet service for under $40.00 in The Villages? I currently pay $39.99 for Comcast Internet only.

What kind of speed is Century Link delivering? My standard Comcast speed is 25mbps. Thinking of getting a faster speed.
