Default Why proper punctuation is important!

Communication:
The English professor walked up to the chalk board and wrote the following words:
"A woman without her man is nothing"

He then asked his students to write the sentence on a piece of paper and punctuate it correctly. This is what he found.

Ninety percent of the males wrote:
"A woman, without her man, is nothing."

Ninety percent of the females wrote:
"A woman: without her, man is nothing."

Punctuation is powerful!

How can that be? I've seen posts from old farts who haven't set foot in a school in 40 or more years that grammar and writing aren't taught in today's public schools.

Yes, I have read those posts, no comment....

I also have a poster that reads:

I love cooking my family and my pets.

Don't be a psycho, use commas!

It's not just punctuation. It's sad to look at some of these.

Thanks Doc! These surely brought tears to my eyes, mainly because I was laughing so hard.

Shouldn't there be a comma after the words "farts" and again after "years" in this sentence?
