Contemplating getting rid of their furniture, and buying furniture from a real store. I like Kane's, in Ocala.

Great salesman, Paul Chase, and great delivery people. 352.237.four, three, three,3. I spelled it out. as TOTV system doesn't like certain sequences, of phone numbers.

BTW - I have read the lousy reviews posted on Google, and I don't agree with the comments made. Their furniture is guaranteed for life. and we are all looking downhill.
Their guarantee is worthless.

Have you shopped at Babbett's in Leesburg? They stand behind everything they sell.

We are from North Carolina. I would take a wonderful trip to Hickory, NC stay at one of the local hotels and shop there. They have design services and extremely helpful and knowledgeable sales people. Bring room dimensions and photos and have a blast shopping.

After a few days of shopping, go to the Blue Ridge Parkway and enjoy the trees and the cool air.
Missypie - this sounds like a great idea. Could you tell me a little more - do you pay extra for the design services and is an appointment needed to do so? And after factoring in shipping costs, is it still reasonably priced versus shopping locally? I have heard of others who have done this on this forum and they do seem to have been satisfied with the results.

And 2B - Although I do not know you personally (yet), you seem like a reasonable, fair person, and in valuing your opinion, I will not be shopping there when I get around to furnishing my new place. So sorry to hear about your experience, but thanks for sharing. By doing so, hopefully it will help others from having to deal with the same aggravation and unnecessary expense. Hope you find other furniture that you love and are happy with!

Excellent idea. The best made furniture comes from North Carolina. You can't go wrong there.

Thanks for posting this info.

Dear 2B, sorry I typed your name wrong in my first post to you. My advice is to call your credit card company if you used one to make the purchase. Read the post I wrote, perhaps that will help.

I like Babbettes too. The name sounds kind of...not alluring but it is a great store.

BUT. Joe really has a beautiful home and a great eye for design. It may not have been structurally sound but the design elements are lovely. His house is really welcoming and dramatic too. He knows how to feather his nest, that boy.

I didn't buy a lot for my home when I moved here, but I did buy a bed, 2 mattresses and a dining room set. Bought all of them from Babcock's in Fruitland Park. Great service, great quality and everything is still in one piece. Good company to work with.

Just an FYI... My son and daughter-in-law live in Thomasville, N.C. There are no furniture factories there anymore. They bought furniture they thought was coming from Thomasville and saw a sticker on the back of their expensive bed that read " Made In China ". They sent it back and bought furniture that was actually made in the USA.

Hey Joe, when I get there in sept. or oct. if it's socket that the bulb fits into I might be able to fix that. can get lamb kit at Home depot or Lowes and replace it. Just option if you want to go that route.
