I wonder if any of their stores are still open?

The one on Flatbush Ave in Brooklyn was a great spot to go after a movie.

Look for Talenti Double Dark Chocolate gelato at Publix or Winn Dixie. It's what you're looking for.

Also carvel stores back than.

Favorite store in Brooklyn was an ice cream shop called Jahns which had a creation called the kitchen sink which was a huge bowl filled with over a dozen scoops of ice cream and lots of flavorings.

Needed a village to finish it.
Long Island also had Jahn's when I was a kid. I believe it was in Levittown. Jahn's have a Wiki page and it says "Only the Jahn's in Jackson Heights Queens is still operating".

Welcome

For an amazing number of choices and some great tasting ice cream, "The Ice Cream Show" in downtown Chattanooga (near the foot bridge) is hard to beat. It's worth watching the video on what makes it so special.

Found it very disappointing. Not like the real thing in Italy.

Since I don’t eat anything with sugar I typically don’t eat ice cream, and it’s about the only sugarless thing I really miss. However, my wife and I found that Kilwins in Spanish Springs serves a sugarless ice cream that is very good. That has now become a frequent destination for us on our bike rides.

Wow Korvettes is a name I have not heard in many years. Was a great discount store in its day.

hands down pineapple gelato is my favorite....first tasted it back in '94 when we were in Italy, been a fan ever since. I've tried making pineapple gelato a few times, I get pretty close to the real thing, but I really need an authentic Italian gelato recipe to duplicate it

(otherwise it's like drinking Guinness over here vs. in Ireland...it's close, but not what they pour in Ireland)

today however, we are going to make some 'lavender ice cream'....nice recipe, the flavor comes from dried lavender flowers ground into dust. We'll freeze what we make while awaiting the Mission figs to show up in the grocery. We bake the figs in honey and port wine and serve them hot over the lavender ice cream. Lot's of great flavors going on in that bowl for sure.
