Default If you love(d) flying

This is a little video that could make you nostalgic. Or it could just make you downright sad. And if you turn on your speakers you will hear a little sad song to go with.

I remember when a friend flew to see me back in the 60's. She wore slacks and did not get all dressed up. I will never forget that people at the Cincinnati airport thought she was from California. She was from Cleveland.

I expected to see the Concorde in this. But it was not there. How I loved that beautiful creature.

Oh Thank you Boomer! That was lovely. Sad, but lovely.
To think that we all probably flew on most of those airlines at one time..
And, I love Sarah Brightman and What'shisname.

Mr. Judy (henceforth to be known as Honey) flew on a Delivery Flight, when they delivered the brand new plane to the airport. They gave him a framed certificate that reads:

In recognition of
Honey (Formerly Mr. Judy)
for support and encouragement of
Dalta Air Lines, Inc.
as witnessed by participation in
Delta's Boeing 757 Delivery Flight
of Aircraft Number 628
June 3, 1987
Honey said it was really cool.

Sure gave me a wistful feeling, time keeps flying and things keep on a changing! (I have the CD with those vocals, Andre Bocceli and Sarah Brightman, I believe.)

Reminded me of the days when one would dress for travel, unlike the cattle cars of today. I used to love flying, any excuse whatsoever. Even sitting around O'Hare or Lambert for hours because of a weather delay was a kick. I've flown once since 9/11, not because of any fear but because of the hassle. I guess it started for me in the mid/late 90's when the fun just went away. I'd rather drive for 2 days than take a day to fly.

Oh darn it, Munc,

When I saw your name appear under this title, I quickly clicked. I was so hoping you were going to tell us all about how you knew some of those stewardesses. Some may have been just a little old for you. But I think some of them looked about right.

Oh well.

Goodnight.

Boomer

Thank you for sharing this with us. It's beautiful and made me sad.
I was accepted by American Airlines to be a stew the year I finished college but after all the testing, etc., I decided to get married. As we all do, I have wondered "What if?"

I bet there are TOTVers who were pilots and stews.

I enjoyed flying, it was special. Now it's horrible and I prefer to drive if possible.

uujudy, respectfully, somehow, I will have trouble calling any man as "honey" LOL
but it's ok if you do. I'll likely still call him Mr. uujudy, is that ok?

Hahaha! Sure, JohnN. Honey says you can call him anything, as long as you don't call him late for 2 for 1's.
