Default If you think it was hot.....

this summer, here's some info I got on my weather page today.....

On this date, July 10th, in 1913, the mercury hit 134 degrees at Greenland Ranch in Death Valley, Calif., the hottest reading of record for the North American continent. The high the previous day was 129 degrees.

I cannot even IMAGINE what that was like!

LOL....I lived in "Dry Heat"...and I'll always remember what one of the local radio personalities said when he moved to the southern CA area....."It may be a dry heat, but so is my oven, and I won't be sticking my head in that."... Ah, I remember one of our drives out to see our son in Las Vegas....it was 115 degrees that day and I refused to leave our air conditioned truck until my son opened the door to his house, his nicely cooled air conditioned house! ....

Hi Pooh,
Those are great. Another good one I've heard about the dry heat: "It's 114 degrees. But it's a dry heat, so it only feels like 110."
