Just read an article on BBC.com about an app-what3words-that can help pinpoint your location if you are in need of help. Every 3M square in the world has been assigned a unique combination of three different words. This article explains it better than I can.

I just downloaded it to my phone and found my 3 word location at my home. Very interesting. Easier than longitude/latitude.

Let’s say you’re lost somewhere (not necessarily in The Villages) out in the country. Open your phone to the app and tap your location (noted by a pushpin). It will give you your 3 word location, which you can tell emergency services.

Of course, this has a couple of “ifs”. IF emergency services knows about this app. IF you have cellphone service.

I think I’m going to call sheriff/fire department to find out if they’re aware of this app.
