I was intrigued by the commercials about Lumosity.com and looked around the web. There are many similar sites, some free, and they are based on varying degrees of scientific theory to improve the mind.

With Lumosity, currently you can get a lifetime membership for $236. so I decided to go for it. The games are fun and they have progressing degrees of difficulty. I did recommend it to my siblings. Just thought I would share my experience.

It was recommended by my doctor. She believes everyone should do something to keep their mind active. I joined it as well.

I am a member also. Unfortunately after joining and using for around 6 months or so I have no idea what good it has done me. There just is no quantitated way that you could prove or disprove improvement or success that I know of.

I think there may be a free trial period. If you go to the site you can see all the details.

Then the membership options and prices vary - by month, year, two years, lifetime memberships.

I've been doing Lumosity training for about a year and I really feel like it helps. It does give you numerical scores on each of the games so you can see if you improve, keeps track of your top five performances, gives you an overall brain profile in a numerical score that you can watch go up as you improve, and shows you how you compare in percentile score with all other Lumosity participants of your age.

Yes I can see my improvement in my scores, but I am not sure if getting better at the games is nothing more than "getting better at the games". It's just my thought.
